When travelling on foot in the bush, there are some pieces of kit which you should always have on your person: binoculars, as a means to scan the bush ahead for dangerous game; a knife, as your last means of defence should an animal attack; a fire stick, in case your circumstances require you to spend the night outside; a whistle, to attact attention; and - last but not least - means to carry water, to keep yourself hydrated in the scorching heat.

These are the most important items to have with you, but a number of others will help to make your adventure more enjoyable. High quality insect repellent is vital, as is UVA/UVB protection sun cream. A powerful headtorch will be needed around camp at night, while a spacious holdall will help you keep all your kit and clothing safely organised.
