The Buffalo Systems DP Hood is designed to fit all Buffalo Shirts and Jackets by way of a secure Velcro strip. The hood provides extra protection against the elements, and is the perfect accessory for their classic Mountain Shirt. Made in the same colours and materials as the Mountain Shirt, the DP Hood is a must-have for owners of Buffalo jackets.

Constructed of a Pertex shell with an Aquatherm pile lining, the DP Hood will not only protect you from wind, rain and snow, but it will also keep your head insulated. Windproof in gales of up to 65 kph, it will also resist rainfall up to 12.7 mm per hour.

The two-position adjuster strap allows the snorkel to be drawn around the face in adverse conditions, while the detachable face-mask can be positioned when required to enclose the mouth and nose, protecting the user from spindrift. If anticipating severe windy conditions, the face mask can be sewn into position at one side.

All of these garments by Buffalo Systems are really very good. I've used them for years. As far as goes my experience and opinion of these hoods, they are an essential add on to the Belay Jackets, Mountain Shirts or Special Six shirts in the Buffao pile pertex combination garment range. The hood makes a real difference in the wind outdoors in the cold. Especially for when you're static, not moving around. The hood like the tops and trousers deal easily with light to moderate rain and dry out quickly from your body heat. Excellent products.

A great addition to any Buffalo shirt. Even fits on my ancient Buffalo Windshirt, as well as my more modern Mountain shirt. It's very warm and, gives good, all round protection. I can't see me ever using the detachable face protector but, it's nice to have options! Unlike the hoods on my down jackets, I don't mnd getting this wet, because like all Buffalo's, it dries very quickly and, stays warm while it's doing it. Thoroughly recomended to anyone who ventures out into cold, potentially wet conditions. Woodlore's price was also very good as well, coupled with the usual fast delivery.

Great hood. The black lining contrasts nicely with my green jacket lining and the hood sits nicely on the back of the jacket when not in use. My medium hood fits my size 40 jacket well and happily accommodates my large head. 5/5 for style and for fit. The separate face covering is a confusing addition though: it is far too small to wear and, even if I could stretch is across the front of the hood whilst I am wearing it, the face covering remains an odd shape - I’ve no idea what to do with it... but it's not an integral part of the hood. Maybe I’ll save it in case my jacket sleeve ever needs an elbow patch.

I bought this for my Buffalo Super 6 Jacket. Securely fits on and is warm as hell- very useful during the recent cold weather. The removable mouth patch is good in the coldest weather. Highly recommend.
