  These mitts are amazing. These are a replacement pair. They work so well, wet, cold any conditions that need warm hands! Fantastic for putting over a lighter liner gloves too. If you've never tried Buffalo gear this would be a good way of finding out how good it is.

  Great, useful product. Very warm gloves, either as outer with light inner gloves or as stand alone. I had previously selected the Large size, as was always before years ago a large in these. Yet they seem these days to be cutting them a little bit slimmer fit at the Buffalo factory. So large I can get into but it's a wiggle to get them on now. This time therefore I decided I'd order up a size to XL to try, which actually fits me as the old Large size did before. Therefore the guidelines given of measuring for correct fit are off now I've found by around an inch or so. Would recommend folks going for next size up to what you'd usually get. Unless you want a very snug fit in the mitts. The suggestion of getting Large size to use within the XL for extreme conditions I'm not now sure would any longer work therefore. Considering they're cutting them smaller at the manufacturer. Again it would be a wiggle to get one into the other, and not easy to fit the large worn then inside of an XL as was suggested. Happily I'm not going anywhere that cold, so it's not an issue for myself. Though it might be for others. Thus I'm mentioning it too.

  Wonderful warmth. Same material as my old Mountain shirt, lightweight and fits inside a map pocket when needed, don't lose them that's the main thing.

  Light, warm, and keep the weather off. Not a ton of grip, but that’s fine. Size up: this is my second pair, I usually wear a large glove (9-9.5 inch hand circumference), and I ordered XL this time.

  A good price on this site for a product whose reputation precedes it. Delivery was quick and straightforward. The gloves are incredibly warm but I am one of hundreds of reviews that will say that they fit slightly strangely around the thumbs and it's worth sizing up.

  My second pair of these mitts. A brilliant product. They look bit flimsy at first, and you do wonder if you've made the right choice. But fear not! They are much stronger than they look. They keep your hand warm in exceptional circumstances. Don't worry if they are wringing wet. Keep them on and they'll keep your hands toasty warm. The same idea as a full Buffalo shirt, when wet they act like a wet suit. The warmth of your hands warms up the fleece, which warms up the water, which warms up your hands! They even dry, when it's stopped raining, as you walk. I've had my first pair for over three years and they are just brilliant, sadly a length of unspotted barbed wire ripped them, but I've glued them with seam sealer and they are fine again. But I've 'retired' them to my spare pair in my bag! Excellent service from Woodlore, and the price was cheaper than Amazon. Clearly they won't be suitable for working carving and heavy work in the woods, but apart from that they won't let you down. They are lightweight and will slip into your bag, or Buffalo pocket quite easily. They are also perfect for sleeping in, when bivvi-ing or camping. I used them on my Journeyman Course, I lived in them for a week! I never leave home without them now!

  These work well. I think that having velcro fasteners means that you need two hands to put a glove on and fasten it. I had Helly Hansen mittens before which were easier to put on when one had one hand tied up doing something like holding a rope. The HH gloves just had elasticated wrists. Other than that, these gloves are perfect. Delivery was prompt and gloves were appropriately packaged.

  These mitts are better for walking in winter than a lot of fancy fingered gloves. If you keep walking, they usually stay warm even when soaked. This is my second pair, the first ones having lasted over a decade. The service from Ray Mears was excellent, though they were bit more expensive than other suppliers.

  I purchased these mittens as I travelled to Tromso, Norway. This is 350km inside the Arctic Circle but benefits from the Gulf Stream. So temperatures were averagely -8oC in February. Great material, nice visual. All round fantastic product. I'll be purchasing more products from Woodlore.
