I have owned these boots for a few weeks now, and I am nothing but impressed with them. Out of the box they have a hand made and slightly quirky feel to them. They look very good, the leather is an almost oxblood colour, which I really like. When you first put them on, they are slightly stiff as a good pair of leather boots should be. After treating them with Rouge wax, it took about 5 miles to break the leather uppers in and then another 15 or so to get the sole to form to my feet. These boots have quickly become my go to boots to wear. I have worn them on pavements, fields, forest and even on the carpet as footwear for work. These boots look great with jeans, chinos, as well as combat trousers. A great general pair of boots if like me you are out and about dog walking, wild swimming, or just enjoying the great outdoors, or want something comfortable on your feet which is smart enough to wear with a blazer and shirt. They are becoming very comfortable in all conditions; the sole is well insulated from the ground and has good grip in all situations. It will be interesting to see how the leather develops in character and if I can keep wearing them for work as well as hacking about in the woods, if not I will just have to have two pairs – they are that good! My only negative which doesn’t warrant a deduction in stars for now is that the metal work seems a bit thin and cheap, there was some signs of corrosion out of the box. I am sure they will last a lifetime, but I think the metal work could be better. PS – Woodlore, can you get some nice red polish for these please! ??
