I had been looking for some new boots to wear in the summer and came across these so I looked around for reviews on them,I was surprised to hear people moaning that they were not waterproof but it states quite clearly that they are not in the company literature ( some people need saving from themselves) anyway I liked the look of them so went ahead with the purchase when I opened the box it was so nice to see a different boot than the normal ones I purchase, by that I mean no gore-tex liner and no Vibram soles but they are part lined round the ankles and under the tongue in soft leather. I normally wear medium thickness walking socks so I put some on and tried the boots - they were a perfect fit and I’m a size eight so ordered these in 8.5. Like they say they are a wide fit but I found this perfect as it let’s your foot spread and is so much more comfortable. I like the ball bearing lace system on the first three rows but I found that you have to pull them just right or the leather presses into the top of your foot, so I played around with it until they were spot on, and then did the same with the rest of the lace up and they were perfect. In fact these boots are the most comfortable boots I’ve worn straight out of the box and this will only get better once they are worn in! I have put some wax on the leather to help give some waterproofing but if I wear them in winter time I will wear waterproof socks, take no notice of the colour of the boots in the advertisement as they are a lot darker burgundy/brown but that’s fine with me, I also love the visible stitching on the soles. Only time will tell how durable and long lasting they are but I get the feeling they will last a long time, are they worth £150? Yes I think they are and I love the fact that they are different from the norm.
