The Rogue 171C Oiled Suede Packaway Hat is a firm favourite amongst Rogue fans. The oiled suede hat, in chocolate brown, is water resistant with a suede plaited hat band. A wonderfully soft hat that can be stored in a pocket or packed away in its own cotton drawstring bag. It is a firm favourite with ladies as well as men.

The Packaway hat is crafted from superior grade 2mm suede leather, a softer leather with a more 'rugged' bush look that has its own distinct appearance and attraction. Just wait until you have used it for a week it goes so soft you won't want to take it off! A multi purpose hat as it can be folded away but is water resistant if the weather requires! Great as a safari hat, a shooting or hunting hat or a general purpose hat. A great choice of Rogue hat for the traveller.

I had a cheap copy of this hat but have finally got the real item. Unlike the cheap version it miraculously regains its shape after folding. I find it much cooler to wear than my canvas Tilley hat and great in wet weather as well as sun (works well with my Swanndri bush shirt in wet weather). Found it a little larger than the Tilley hat with same hat size.

This hat is very nice with a rugged look. The leather is sturdy and the hat very comfortable on the head. There are some minor cosmetic scratches in the leather, but this only adds character and is only visible for the hat owner. On the card that came with the hat it’s mentioned that 'these scars will occur because it’s hell in Africa', overall a top product and I love my hat. Thank you Woodlore.

The hat fits perfectly and looks good on. Materials on the parts of the hat you can see are good. However the stitching inside is bad, one stitch had a gap of over two inches? I don't think it will affect the performance of the hat, and cosmetically it can't be seen. Long term who knows if the stitching will hold up. The underside of the rim has a flaw in the leather, again this can't be seen unless you take the hat off, it looks like a tear, but it doesn't go all the way through to the visible side of the brim. My overall impression of the hat is it looks good and feels good on, but it's let down badly by build quality. Had I picked this up in a shop and saw how bad it had been put together, I wouldn't have purchased it. I will take a chance and keep it, only time will tell if it holds up.
