The Gransfors Bruks Small Splitting Axe is a two-handed splitting axe from Gransfors, designed for splitting small stove wood. This axe can also be used one-handed due to its size.

Please note that this axe features the exclusive 'Ray Mears Bushcraft' logo on the handle and not the Gransfors Bruks logo.

As with all Gransfors products, the Small Splitting Axe is of excellent quality; hand-forged and made using traditional Swedish methods. Each axe head comes individually stamped with the smith's initials, while the handle features an exclusive embossed Ray Mears logo.

This axe is forged and ground to a concave, giving a thinner blade at the bit. This design helps the axe to go fast into the wood, splitting efficiently when the thicker part hits and pushes the wood apart.

Please note that this axe is not designed for pounding on a wedge, but is ideal for use with a chopping block.

First time GB axe purchase and I am impressed. Magnificent quality. Bought this primarily for splitting already split firewood into smaller pieces and kindling for which it is superb. Buy the larger one if you are splitting bigger rounds.

Really a good worker. Split firewood easily. Great materials, good design. The only disadvantage I find is the size, for me it is big for one hand use and small for use with two hands.

Quality workmanship, lovely shape to handle and the working end. Light to use with one hand although solidly made and it will be something that lasts a long time for sure. Lovely for splitting wood for the stove fire and camp fire - highly recommended! Great communication and delivery by the Woodlore team also. Thanks guys!

What an axe, it powers through 7x14 inch logs one-handed if you chock it up the handle a bit. The bigger stuff is a breeze, two-handed. Delivery was spot on, with loads of information. This is the second (GB) axe I've bought from Woodlore over the years, both great purchases.
