The Morakniv Companion MG Stainless Knife is a new and improved version of their popular entry-stage model, formerly known as the Mora Training Knife or 'Clipper'. It is an excellent knife to use whilst learning basic bushcraft techniques (being sturdy enough to withstand harsh treatment), while still being of a high enough quality to use once you are more proficient in knife work.
It features a stainless steel, single-bevel blade which sharpens to a fine edge, finished with a half tang and directly-moulded handle for extra strength.
Rather than just having individual areas that are grippy, the handle - which is made from rigid ABS plastic - features a complete overlay of the high-friction material Dryflex, for an improved grip. Being that Dryflex is Latex-free, the Companion MG Knife is suitable for those with Latex allergies. The updated handle also features a little more body to the central part of the grip, adding extra comfort.
The sheath is made of strong, olive green ABS plastic and will attach comfortably to most belt widths. The sheath features a thumb-push feature, which makes it easier to draw the knife with one hand. The internal 'Knife Retaining System' in the sheath results in a great fit between knfe and sheath, making for added safety.
You can use the back of this knife to strike the
Fire Stick, but you will need to file it slightly to obtain a rough edge.
