The Fjallraven Vidda Pro Trousers are one of the most popular models to come from the Swedish brand. Made from their ultra-durable G-1000 fabric, they are wind- and water-resistant, extremely versatile, and will no doubt become your go-to trousers for the outdoors.

Forming a fundamental part of Fjallraven's 'Trekking' range, the Vidda Pro Trousers feature pre-shaped knees for ease of movement, reinforced black panels over the rear and knees for durability, and six practical pockets, including map and axe pockets. Each leg ending is finished with an elastic strap adjustment with press button closure and boot hook.

The Vidda Pro Trousers are made from Fjällraven's classic G-1000 Original material. This densely woven fabric is a blend of 65% polyester (recycled) and 35% cotton (organic), making the material windproof and outstandingly hardwearing. It is also water-resistant thanks to an impregnation of Greenland Wax, which can be reapplied when necessary throughout the life of the product. This high-strength fabric also wicks moisture away from the body, making the Vidda Pro Trousers ideal for active use in the outdoors all year round.

I’ve been wearing Vidda Pro trousers for the last 35 years or so, and usually had a couple of pairs on the go. Brilliant durable trousers that I have worn for everything from hiking and outdoor work to skiing in the mountains of Norway (with long johns underneath). The design has changed over the years, but always had enough freedom of movement to accommodate all my activities. This latest version, however, is much more close fitting than previously, possibly in an effort to be more stylish in appearance, but hopeless for crouching down, raising a leg or skiing in comfort. I’m greatly saddened by this – it seems Fjallraven have prioritised looks rather than function. Fabric and construction still seem very good, and fine if you don’t mind really close fitting trousers and don’t move around that much, but no longer the functional trousers that comfortably allow a full range of movement that have served me well over the years. (Incidentally, it’s not me getting larger - all my other clothes fit fine!) These have been my default legwear for years, and now I’m going to have to look for an alternative. Would appreciate suggestions Woodlore. Thanks

The vidda pro trousers are as fantastic as the many reviews suggested, I anticipated them coming up a little short as I'm often longer in the inseam when buying trousers, but these fit well for me at 6 ft 3. Although it's far too early to talk about durability and wear, the construction appears to be of very good quality, so I'm fairly confident that they'll withstand whatever it is I intend to throw at them. Service and speed from woodlore is exactly what you would expect from anything associated with Ray Mears.
