Each Ray Mears leather belt is handmade from a single piece of supple, fine quality heavy bridle butt. The belt is cut from the length of the butt, and the leather will become even more supple over time and with use.
The belt comes embossed with the Ray Mears Bushcraft logo, making this product a very special item exclusive to Woodlore. The thickness of the leather makes the Woodlore Belt strong enough to be used as a knife strop or to lash things together whilst the natural beauty of the leather is brought out by the hand burnished edges and traditional crease line.
The heavyweight, solid brass buckle with roller is a type usually found on traditional heavy horse harness. Two leather loops keep the free end of the belt in place; one fixed at the buckle and one free-running.
All of our leather goods are hand-made in England by a craftswoman with over three decades of experience. All leathers are vegetable tanned with full, natural grain, and are hand-dyed in house.
