  My first choice pair of gloves when hitting the hill. Warm and waterproof under most conditions . My previous 2 pairs lasted well but did eventually start to leak after 2-3 years of heavy use and abuse on the hills including scrambling. At sub zero temperatures and in torrential rain these gloves are not as good as mits.

  I've worn these gloves in conditions ranging from a slightly sub-zero wet central Europe to just above zero all day UK heavy rain, and have no hesitation in recommending them. I was expecting my hands to feel a little sweaty after a while, but was pleasantly surprised to find the gloves very comfortable to wear in both wet and dry conditions. When packed away they don't occupy much space, and in use it's relatively easy to turn the pages of paper birdguides. Woodlore's service was as usual excellent.

  Good well made gloves. They are maybe lighter than I was expecting but still reasonably warm. I'd wear a liner if really chilly but good quality basic gloves. I use them to walk the dog so nothing extreme but they do the job.

  These gloves are everything I’d hoped for, after hours of online searching and reading reviews. They keep my hands dry and warm and cover my wrists as well. I wanted gloves I could wear for Nordic walking and something not too bulky so they fit through the loops on my poles. These are just right. Although I frequently suffer with cold hands and feet, it took my hands a while to warm up, but once they did they stayed very warm despite cold winds. Woodlore service was excellent, easy ordering and quick delivery.

  A smart, warm pair of gloves that fit well. Other winter gloves tend to look and feel bulky, these retain the warmth yet look relatively slim. Glad I bought them.

  Good gloves, the feel is actually great. It's four stars because when you get hot you get quite a wet feeling inside. Not exactly super breathable, then there is how you wear them, if out for a walk your hands will get you warm and comfy. on a bicycle, just a commute when it was around 0 degrees in London, and my hands felt cold. Barely -1, Swedish gloves and cold fingers, just does not make much sense, does it. Overall these are good gloves for general protection when you're out to keep hands warm, not necessarily performance gloves. Ray Mears as an online shop which I stumbled upon in my quest not to buy from amazon was a superb experience, quick despatch, just perfect.

  I have had so many pairs of glove but none as warm as these. I really can’t believe that these are available at such a competitive price considering how well made they are and the outstanding performance they offer. I would highly recommend these glove to anyone.

  I cannot fault the Woodlore service as my gloves arrived quickly and were a good price. I already own a pair of Hestra leather guide gloves but wanted a less bulky and totally waterproof pair. The pickup gloves are more lightweight but are still wind and waterproof. The only disadvantage to them is that they are less breathable than my guide gloves and my hands get a bit sweaty in them if I'm working myself hard. They are a bit of a struggle to get on if your hands are wet when you put them on as the fleece lining sticks to your skin a bit. I am pleased with them overall.
