These Noble Wilde Gloves have been created from a special blend of fine merino wool and insulating possum fur, making them a luxurious winter glove that will provide a superb amount of warmth while remaining extremely light in weight. The idea of blending these two natural fibres was first developed by a New Zealand knitter as a by-product of the possum control programme, making the merino/possum blend an environmentally sound choice.

For many years now, Woodlore have stocked the Noble Wilde Beanie, a best-selling item which has proved extremely popular among our fellow outdoorsmen and women year after year. As such, it seemed like an obvious choice to also stock their gloves. If you're a fan of their hats, these gloves will no doubt be a welcome addition to your winter wardrobe.

Possum fur is one of the most extraordinary natural fibres in the world, thanks to its hollow core; this cavity traps a tunnel of air that provides extraordinary warmth (up to 30% more than standard woollen garments), while keeping the fibre's weight to a minimum.

Merino wool also has unique characteristics; each fibre is exceptionally fine, long and densely crimped, helping to retain heat close to the skin while keeping out cold air. The fibre also wicks moisture away from the skin, allowing the wool to stay warm and dry. The combination of merino wool with possum fur results in a fabric that is lightweight, twice as warm as wool, highly resistant to pilling and opulently soft to the touch.

Two synthetic fibres have been added to the mix. These fibres help to provide a hard-wearing outer surface to the gloves, while retaining just the right amount of stretch to give a firm fit to the hand. Please note these gloves are a snug fit; as such we would recommend choosing the next size up if you are unsure of the correct sizing.

Only worn in chilly weather so far if honest. Hands too warm so should be fine for winter. Bought extra large, perfect fit on palm, bit long on fingers. Would recommend.

Nice and comfortable gloves at a good price too. So far they have been mostly resistant to mild rain. Not warm enough for for sub zero short cycle rides, but good for a wool glove.

Excellent pair of gloves. This is my second pair. They are thin enough to allow hands to grip and easily manipulate even small objects like padlock keys while providing sufficient insulation to keep my hands warm while cycling to work on cold autumn days. They are also water resistant so function well in light rain showers.

These gloves are just great. Warmer than pure wool, softer than the fingerless gloves and darker in colour. Purchased as family gifts too. Good product to use in cooler regions and with Nordic poles.

The product itself is high quality. Yet, definitely, the problem is size. If you have bigger hands but not so much, purchase XL undoubtedly. If you really have big hands, there is no size for you of this product. As an example, I have 20 cm-long hands and the L size I purchased is short for me, even though the chart says it should be okay. Previous comments are in the same vein.

As per my review for the fingerless gloves, a five star rating for quality & warmth, but again as per the fingerless version, I would suggest if you use the measurement instructions and think you're a Large, go for XL.
