The Origopro Long Range Scout Jacket is a popular Finnish jacket with many names. The Finnish name for this garment is Sissitakki. Sissi is a Finnish term for light infantry which conducts reconnaissance, sabotage and guerrilla warfare operations behind enemy lines. Takki simply translates as jacket. It is also known as Guerrilla jacket, flip jacket, roll jacket, and break jacket.
The Long Range Scout jacket is reversible with MO5 forest pattern on one side and M05 snow pattern on the other broadening the types of environments you can benefit from the camouflaged patterning. The forest-patterned fabric has a light PU coating and the snow pattern fabric is without polyurethane, making this a very versatile jacket for winter terrain.
The Long Range Scout Jacket started life being produced from surplus fabric purchased from the Finnish Defence Forces in 2015, it has since developed into a modern 'Survival and Rescue' jacket. Mika Kalakoski, director of the FinnARP 2019 expedition to Antarctica, participated in the product development, sharing his extensive knowledge of surviving in the cold and hunting.

This versatile coat can be shortened to a pelvic length, secured with buttons or used as a long coat. It features a full-length zip with a poppered protective flap and two large hand warming pockets on each outer.
