Swanndri Ranger Xtreme Wool Shirt - Olive/Black Check

  I've been wearing this while laying hedges, it has been superb against the wind & light rain, feels nice & robust even when lunging through blackthorn! Only negative is the sleeves are very short & ride up when working, size wise I went for an XL, fits okay but not much room under for any thick layers (6'3 18 stone) so would size up if looking to use it for that. I wore a couple of long sleeve thin bamboo tops under which worked well.

  This is a great shirt! Lovely and warm, very well made, and the lining is superb in the wind as well as solving the itching problem. I am 6'3, 108kg and ordered XL which is a good fit over a base and mid layer. I don't wear a watch which is good because the cuffs are snug. I like the Olive/Black check and would certainly buy a second one if other colours become available. I ordered in the morning and the product was delivered the following day which was excellent. It was very well packaged and as usual, the service from Woodlore was excellent!

  Excellent product and delivery. Size large fits me well over 3 layers, I am 6ft ish with a fairly normal build. Top top is nice and warm with a good windproof inner lining.

  Fantastically warm and comfortable. I've worn this out in the rain a number of times and somehow the rain just runs off the wool whatever way it's been treated, meaning the liner underneath hasn't even been tested yet. The build quality is fantastic. I am 5ft 10inches and of medium build and the medium size is just right for me to wear with a fleece underneath. It is both wind and waterproof. I would think it will get wet on the outside wool layer in heavy rain and become quite heavy but I haven't tested it in this manner as yet but very impressed with the quality and extremely happy with my purchase.

  A good roomy fit on me at 5 feet 8 inches. Plenty space for layers underneath. I usually wear a hoody under it if it's cold and there's still loads of room to move. Good longer style, which helps keep you warmer. A warm garment as well. I've been wearing it during my work (usually at night recently) and it keeps me warm and comfortable even below zero Celcius. I work in the film & telly business so there can be a fair bit standing around getting cold, but this is a good solution. I already own the standard Ranger shirt but wish I'd just got one of these instead, the windproof lining makes this worth the money. The standard ranger shirt isn't useless but the ranger extreme is better for me personally. Also, the buttons are better than the zip on the normal Ranger shirt. Better style-wise and more practical I think. The side pockets are a great addition too, big and roomy. I love how it looks and the colour is great too. I've not had the chance to test it out in really foul weather but it's survived (with ease) a couple of rainy days around Glasgow. My only negative, a minor one as well, is that the collar is unlined which means it can be a bit itchy on the back of your neck. I'd maybe take half a star off, but it's only a minor inconvenience. Feels like it'll last forever, and be easily repaired if or when it needs it. Really pleased with my purchase. Tapadh leat Woodlore.

  Was somewhat hesitant about sizing when ordering but went with medium which would generally be my normal size. I’m 5 foot 11 with a 40 inch chest, and 80kg average build. I am happy with sizing which is not too loose or tight, it will comfortably allow for a thin layer underneath. I find wool scratchy enough against skin so glad I went with lined option, just th edge of collar which sometimes scratches but this will probably reduce over time as it wears in.

  This is my second Swanndri shirt, I wanted the windproof liner and additional pockets. Perfect fit for me in size medium, worn with a merino long sleeved base layer and merino mid layer, it really has been extremely comfortable at -5 in a northerly wind, regulating the heat is easy just undo a button or two. The quality is excellent, there were no loose threads, pockets are sized and positioned perfectly. The wool doesn’t seem as itchy as my other Swanndri ranger wool shirt. The collar stands high, using a merino buff and the possum fur hat it really seals you in from the elements. You know when you wear it, it’s made to last, I’ve moved away from synthetic materials more and more due to there weak points and cleaning processes. You won’t be disappointed and the price is more than acceptable for something that will last decades.

  Nice warm shirt. Windoroof lining works well. I’m 6’3 and have quite long arms and the shirt is a little shorter than I would like but overall it’s great.

  This garment was purchased to go with other items of Swanndri clothing bought from Woodlore. It was chosen because it has a liner inside making it comfortable to wear with just a tee shirt, or a Woolpower Ullfrotte turtle neck garment. The only problem I had was that the garment could have done with another button on the sleeve above the cuff, as there is a slight gap. The Swanndri Ranger Xtreme Wool Shirt is an excellent garment and really feels the part when walking out in the woods. Again, excellent service and postal delivery. Will certainly use Woodlore again.

  I was fortunate enough to be supplied Swanndri garments through my work in NZ and since returning to the UK have been saving up the pennies to afford one of their products. I am an Arborist/tree surgeon and as a result of my work, I really pushed clothing to it's limitations. The wicking capabilities are unmatched by any other product at a similar price but for me, the strength and durability are what have always been the selling point. I could easy spend £200 on a solid waterproof and see it turned to rags in a matter of weeks. The item was delivered quickly and promptly and I am stoked with it. Good on you guys for promoting such a foreign and quality product.
