Grohmann Slimline Folding Pocket Knife - Natural Staghorn Handle

£105.00

Weight: 64 g         7 reviews
The Grohmann Slimline Pocket Knife is a comfortable and lightweight, single-blade UK legal folding knife from Canada. With a non-locking blade made from high-carbon stainless steel, the Slimline Pocket Knife is finished with a stunning natural staghorn handle for an elegant look. Top quality components are used throughout (nickel silver bolster, brass liners and pins, and a stainless steel spring), creating a sturdy knife that's built to last.

The Slimline Pocket Knife has been used by Ray Mears for many years now, most notably in his BBC series Northern Wilderness. Ray particularly likes this new Staghorn handled version and on seeing this product for the first time said how stunning and high quality it looks. The staghorn used is a natural product so each handle will vary, making each knife unique.

Grohmann Knives were traditionally designed and crafted to meet the demands faced by those who made a living from, or survived in, the Canadian wilderness. Now, over sixty years later, Grohmann Knives are still proudly produced in the same town, yet are recognised and respected around the world for their exceptional beauty, balance and quality. Over the years they have won more than 25 international honours, including a display at New York's prestigious Museum of Modern Art.

All folding knives should always be used with caution.

The first knife I received the blade was way off center and pretty unusable. I'd highlight here Ray Mears / Woodlore's approach to trying to fix the issue, you can tell most about a company when thing go wrong and they were outstanding (5 stars to the company). In any case the second knife blade centering was not great either so I guess its a feature. The rest of the finish is pretty decent, and for my use (more of a gents pocket knife) fit and feel works for me, though if I'd to buy again I'd probably go for an English made Michael May for around the same price

This is a great little pocket knife. Well made, the scales are antler so they vary but mine certainly looks the part and help with it's grip. Nice and sharp out of the box. Lovely little knife all told.

I ordered the knife yesterday and it has just arrived. Great service once again from Woodlore. The knife has one bolster and not the two shown on the picture, but that's fine. I think I actually prefer it with just the one. It feels comfortable in the hand and looks like a sturdy knife. The blade is sharp on arrival (always good). This pocket knife will last me for the rest of my life and I'm sure I will get a lot of use out of it. A belt sheath would be handy and I'll be looking for that soon. All in all, great. Five stars. Thanks Woodlore. John.

Dear John. Thank you for your kind review. We have updated our website to display the single bolster version. Unfortunately our deliveries vary on how many bolsters are added to the knives for each build.

A wonderfully made traditional knife. I was very happy when it came back in stock, and ordered one straight away, I was extremely pleased when it turned up. It’s wonderfully crafted, and feels like a knife that will last my lifetime and well beyond. I should think maybe one day this may go to any grandchildren I may one day hopefully have. I can see why Ray used one similar in a number of his Northern Wilderness episodes (I think the only difference is Ray had the wooden handled version instead). Came sharp, it's early days to comment on edge retention, but nice to know it’s clearly possible to get it nice and sharp in the first place anyway. Thanks very much.

Nice, lightweight simple well made knife, one blade and Uk Legal to carry, not many options available in this format these days of this classic style. The model I received as bolsters at both ends and not as pictured, no half stop on closing and very smooth operation.

My husband is thrilled with this pocket knife, it is exactly the same as the one his father bought in the 1930's and which my husband has sadly lost. I can't replace the sentiment behind the original knife, but I have been able to replace it with something of equal high quality. well worth the wait for the knife to come into stock, so thank you very much.

This is a great little knife, I own one of the Rose Wood Slim line knives also. This Stag Horn model has a slightly different blade shape to the Rosewood model and thicker scales so fills my hand better. Its great quality knife, takes a good edge and is easy to sharpen, ideal for whittling and small outdoor tasks. Kev
