The Voile Telepro Avalanche Shovel is a superb snow shovel that is both lightweight and far-reaching. With an extended length of 100 cm and a total weight of 850 g, it is the choice of avalanche professionals, guides, patrollers, and rescue teams worldwide.

It comes highly recommended for those attending one of our Winter Expeditions, and will make light work of ice fishing preparation and shelter building. It is equally suitable for keeping in your vehicle or home during the winter.

While many other shovels are so short that they cause back pain after anything more than brief usage, the extended length of the Avalanche allows you to work ache-free for long periods of time. The extended telescoping handle adds efficiency and once collapsed, the handle removes easily from the scoop and stows conveniently in a pack for travel or making joyous turns downhill.

Another feature that is so often missing in show shovels today is a decent handle. The Avalanche overcomes this and employs a heavy-duty D-grip handle, allowing comfortable use with both gloves and mittens. Meanwhile, the shovel scoop features 'deadman' holes, allowing it to be used as a snow anchor, or for making an emergency rescue sled.

I recently bought this for winter camping. I bought it because of the D shaped hand hold and the long handle. The long handle is important, the shovel is 1m in length as this is better for my back when shoveling snow on to the snow valences of my tent The shovel is extremely sturdy. I would highly recommend it.

Not had the opportunity to use this in anger yet but very well made. It has a lovely long handle that is removable for easy carriage, which can be locked at half length for use in confined spaces. Looked at a lot of different ones before I bought this one, without a doubt this is the best I've seen.

Nice solid bit of kit. The D handle is much better with mittens. We will see how it copes in the mountains in the winter. Needs insulation on handle. Head seems strongly built.

This one comes with me on every winter trip in the mountains. I've built different shelters with it (snow caves, Finsesatelitt etc.) and it works very good. It moves snow fast, a good thing in case of avalanches. When everybody wants to borrow your shovel, you know you've got the right one. It's got a couple of dents, but still works flawlessly. This one at Ray Mears I bought for my fiancee.
