Swazi Steevos Pants - Olive

  Very robust and extremely warm trouser. Fitted fine around waist and thighs, but quite narrow below knee. Would fit in wellington boots well, but this narrowness around the calves meant they didn’t ride up comfortably when crouching or raising a leg, so not for me. A shame. Waist wise, I’m normally a 34 inch, and the large fitted very comfortably.

  I bought these to augment a pair of very old, blue, seriously heavyweight, North Face fleece trousers similarly constructed but with non-waterproof knee and seat patches that sadly are no longer made, I think they were issued to the American Forces. Anyway the Swazi Steevos pants are a great buy, they're thick enough fleece to provide good insulation, I wear them over 400 gsm Merino wool long johns and it's a good combination at this time of year if you're relatively static for long periods of time in colder weather. The real benefits are the zip fly for obvious reasons and the waterproof patches on the knees and rear are superb, if you're down on one knee on damp ground to hammer in tent pegs, or sitting on a wet tree stump to eat lunch etc. The pockets are also full fleece which is a nice detail, not that I stand around with my hands in my pockets all day. The belt and accompanying belt lops that comes with the trousers are a bit thin but it works. I'm normally size 30-32 inch waist but other reviewers, perhaps not here, sometimes recommended going up a size so I did and the 34-36 inch fit really well with plenty of unrestricted room to bend and flex. A great pair of fleece trousers for anyone who works or spends time outdoors in cold weather. I think they'll be worn a lot on cooler summer evenings as well.   Just received the Steevo’s after a speedy delivery from Woodlore, followed other reviews and sized up which is sound advice the pants fit perfectly. The pants are very comfy and toasty although I’m lounging around on the settee, going to put them to the test in the Autumnal cold damp weather soon!

  I have been very impressed with Swazi clothing as I have recently purchased a very good smock, with this in mind I thought I would purchase a pair of trousers! This first thing I would like to say is the low cost of these trousers shouldn’t put you off purchasing them. I have used and abused them whilst out stalking roe deer in Northumberland in October weather ie four seasons in one day. As with most outdoor/wilderness activities you can be very immobile (glassing an area ore in a high-seat for prolonged periods) or very active both hot and sweaty (extracting a culled deer from afar over rough hilly ground) and I have found these trousers to be very hard wearing warm and wind proof. The fit is good and they don’t feel to baggy as I find over loose fitting trousers can be a burden, the knee and seat patches are very well placed. I recommend these trousers and would urge you to purchase before the price increases as they are very much above the cost point.

  Comfortable and silent trousers. Have used when its cold outside while mooching around camp and also indoors sometimes as they're so comfortable. I snagged them while sawing and immediately produced a little hole but thats my fault not the trousers, but something to consider if your in a spiky spot.

  Great practical trousers super warm and practical. Really useful fishing and putting on as soon as up when camping. Slightly narrower than expected

  I can see why these trousers are a favourite amongst the woodlore staff. They are superbly confortable and I already believe that they are going to be around for some considerable time. The legs are a little narrow for my usual tastes but that is not a problem and a fastenable pocket might be useful but once again this is only being picky. The material feels great and repels winds very well indeed I can't wait to be able to get to a camp environment and gently chill out. Thank you Woodlore.

  I wanted a pair of heavy duty and warm fleece trousers so decided to give these a try. Typical Swazi quality and stupidity warm. I am very pleased with them.
