The smoke from open fires made up of fungi or dry rot help protect the aborigines of Northern Scandinavia and their reindeer from the mosquito plague. Later Beckolja was produced and in the mid-forties Djungel Oil was manufactured.

Nordic Summer insect repellent is an historic mixture of the effective ingredients of all these products and is a powerful and lasting form of protection against mosquitoes.
