Morakniv Companion Heavy Duty MG Knife

The Morakniv Companion Heavy Duty MG Knife is a powerful tool for bushcrafters, hunters and outdoorsmen alike. As with all Mora knives, it offers excellent build quality and ergonomics at a surprisingly low price.

With an almost identical build to that of the popular Morakniv Companion MG Knife, this Heavy Duty model benefits from a considerably thicker blade, measuring 3.2 mm in width. Made from carbon steel, this improvement brings the knife in line with more expensive models on the market, and results in a more robust knife that will withstand harder use.

This Heavy Duty version of the Companion Knife is an excellent knife to use whilst learning basic bushcraft techniques (being sturdy enough to withstand harsh treatment), while still being of a high enough quality to use once you are more proficient in knife work. Woodlore students attending our Fundamental Bushcraft courses will be issued with this knife, while it is also widely used by Woodlore's Instructors and Assistants.

The Companion Heavy Duty Knife features a half tang, moulded into an extra large ergonomic handle with a soft, high-friction grip; both the handle and sheath have been made in the distinctive Mora military green colour-scheme. The classic scandi grind carbon steel blade allows for easy sharpening, while the wider bevel angle of 27° gives extra strength for tasks such as batoning.

The sheath is made from tough plastic and will attach comfortably to most belt widths. It includes Mora's trusty thumb-push feature, which makes it easier to draw the knife with one hand. The internal Knife Retaining System inside the sheath has also been improved, resulting in a better fit between knife and sheath, making for added safety.

Overall, the Companion Heavy Duty MG Knife is a fantastically strong and well-designed tool for all-round outdoor and Bushcraft use, at a great price.
