This is my second paramo jacket, I have had a Velez adventure light for 6 years which I use for cycling, the Halcon is every bit as good as my other jacket, great quality, warm and very comfortable. I haven't been out in a downpour yet, but I live in Wales so shouldn't have to wait too long. I highly recommend this jacket and the service from Ray Mears Bushcraft was excellent.

I am delighted with this jacket which I purchased as an alternative winter jacket to my Ventile smock. I have worn it for hill walking and birding, it is fantastic. It is very wind and waterproof, it was comfortable and warm in very cold windy heavy sleet/snow conditions recently. The first time I wore it was in a sustained downpour for about 3 hours and it was completely waterproof. The pockets are large, practical and well placed. The fleece lined hand warmer pockets are great. The hood is great, when it is adjusted it fits perfectly without restricting vision. Adjustment on the cuffs is good and fits well over my gloves. It also has a baffle behind the main zip which buttons closed. This is really good when it is windy ( really toasty in -4 degrees plus windchill with a Woolpower 400 mid layer underneath). I found the sizing perfect for me, I am 5'10 and 14 and a half stone, the Large size has plenty of room and fits well across my shoulders. If you are looking for a solid walking / wildlife watching jacket I highly recommend this one. Delivery from Woodlore was once again super fast (I'm beginning to wonder if items are teleported and not posted!) and service is faultless.

Great jacket, I use it for dog walking. The hood pulls nicely around head and face with adjusters that work simply and effectively. The collar has a soft material that sits against your neck, nice touch. The arms have venting which does work, and very good adjustable cuffs. The jacket has a hem and waist adjustment which again works well cutting out draughts. The front zipper and press studs keep out the weather, but I find doing up the press studds first then the zipper a bit fiddly. All my other jackets have zipper first then press studs. The main reason I purchased this jacket was for the amount of pockets it has, these are all well thought out. The hand warmer pockets with a nice soft lining being a favourite. As for waterproofing time will tell. Water is beeding well but it should being a new jacket. I've purchased the Nikwax cleaning and proofing products, I will apply these when the jacket starts to wet out. A very well thought out jacket which I'm very happy with.

I like to give my equipment a couple of months trial before submitting a review to get to grips with it. This jacket hasn't disappointed at all, waterproofing was tested on a terrible day, there was non stop rain with no leaks from the jacket. The material is very quiet and the pockets are very handy. The hood has good adjustments and fits well. I only have one thing with the jacket, it's very warm when walking over 4-5 miles. In minus 2 I only wear a technical t-shirt and I'm just right but I run a bit hot so probably just me. I can and will highly recommend this jacket to anyone who needs a high quality jacket for the great outdoors. The service from Woodlore is second to none, thank you.

Really pleased with the purchase , as am amateur wildlife photographer it does everything I need it to do , great protection from adverse weather and all the additional pockets of various sizes are great for carrying additional kit around without having to carry a backpack. Fleece lined hand warming pockets are super for giving the hands that extra bit of warmth on cold days. I would recommend this jacket for anyone who is a lover of outdoor activities.

This is the best jacket of its type that I have owned in recent decades. I wanted a 'better jacket', for winter fishing in the UK, and for bird and other nature watching, and for outdoor photography in all weathers. I wanted one in a natural green colour, to blend in, rather than the bright colours favoured for hill-walking type jackets. It had to be of high quality, well thought out, comfortable, durable, non-rustle and, obviously, thoroughly water and wind proof. It had to have an adjustable hood that turned as freely as possible with one's head, unlike some that tend to leave one looking at the inside of the hood. I cannot vouch for durability yet, but from my research and the quality of the garment I have no qualms on that score. The soft material makes this a supremely comfortable jacket. It's cosy on its own, reassuringly snug with added fleece and thermals when the temperature dips towards freezing. It's very functional and in summary, I am delighted and impressed by how well it has met my expectations. It's not cheap, but illustrates again the truth of 'you get what you pay for'.

Excellent jacket, extremely well made with well designed features for optimum comfort, soft feel and weatherproof. Very impressed. All of my office colleagues and friends have been similarly impressed by the quality.

As a guy from The States who was looking for an all weather jacket that was not GorTex, as well as a huge fan of Ray and his Woodlore YouTube channel, I thought to visit the Woodlore shop. In doing so I was introduced to the Paramo Halcon jacket. Compared to other products, I found less than I would have like, review wise, on the web. Since Mr. Mears recommended the product, and it was on quite a sale, I took a chance. To state it mildly, I am quite pleased! This is the second Britsh product that I have purchased this year. I understand the US is a huge place with vast competition but these UK jackets are great. The quality and the design are as good as I've seen. I own North Face, Carhartt and Marmot. All of which are reputable companies but Paramo could certainly give them a run for the money. For example, the wired formable hood on the Halcon is something I've never seen. The elastic Velcro cuff design is great also but the clincher for me is the Analogy by Nixwax concept. It works great and breaths as stated. This past week it was raining and in the low 60's F, typically in those conditions in Northern California I would be quite humid and sticky in a jacket. The Halcon was great. Well done Paramo.
