Ray Mears Folding Trivet

Weight: 990 g         15 reviews
The Ray Mears Folding Trivet is a tough, fully-collapsible cooking tripod, ideal for bushcraft use. Hand-made from mild steel, this is a piece of kit that will see it through many trips and adventures.

Ray has worked with British blacksmith and long-time friend of Woodlore's, Andrew Kirkham, to design his very own take on the bushcraft cooking tripod.

It features a unique, removable pot stand which, when placed over the cooking platform, makes it possible to cook with smaller pots and mugs such as the Zebra Billy Can or Military Crusader Cup. It comes complete with a durable canvas carry pouch, adorned with a subtle RM snowshoe logo.

Andrew Kirkham is an esteemed British blacksmith who has produced a number of items for Ray and Woodlore over the years, including our Steel Strikers and Stitching Awls. We are very happy to be working with Andrew on this product and have nothing but praise for his exceptional work.

This is a very well made and thought out piece of kit. It is a bit weighty, but on the other hand one can have complete confidence that it will be stable and take something heavy too. The bit that fits on top is good for smaller things and it all folds down nicely. It comes in a a great canvas like bag with a draw string, so you don't have to worry about finding one for it. Splendid bit of kit. Delivery costs are very reasonable and quick. Thank you.

Great bit of kit. Folds down small and doesn't weigh too much. Used it on a canoe trip in Sweden and avoided the need for tripods for cooking big billycans full of food, heating kettles, etc. Was sort of expecting the steel to buckle after several hours in the fire but all was good and it all folded up well after use.

I always trust that items offered for sale by the Woodlore team are high quality and this trivet is no exception. Robust, well-made and packs down to a reasonable size. Due to the nature of the material/metal that it is made from, it will add weight but it does fit nicely in a backpack or rucksack. The weight doesn't bother me one bit but may be a consideration for the lightweight backpacker people out there. Overall, I am very happy with this product and would recommend it highly. Many thanks to the Woodlore team.

Very neat old fashioned looking product that fits the bill perfectly. Nicely made except the legs could fold a fraction tighter, very minor adjustment. Love the bag as a nice woodlands touch. Can't wait to get out and boil the Billy on it.

A great, sturdy trivet. By chance the Kelly kettle fire bucket thing fits in the middle so you can even use it to have a fire off of the ground.

These are built to last. After an extensive search online the RM folding trivet came out way in front. They are worth every penny.

Been waiting to get one of these for a long time now. Very well made, canvas bag is top quality and is not as heavy as I thought it was going to be.
