Tear-Aid Original Repair Patch Kit - Type A is a handy polyurethane patch kit that can be used to repair tents, tarpaulins, airbeds, fishing waders, sleeping bags, rucksacks, boat covers and umbrellas, to name but a few applications. Highly recommended by Ray, Tear-Aid patches have the benefit of not requiring any messy glue application. If you've ever been far from home and in need of making an urgent running repair, you'll appreciate just how useful this piece of kit could be.

Each Tear patch is made from an exceptionally tough, matte-finish, abrasion-resistant polyurethane elastomer, which resists puncture and tearing. Combined with an aggressive adhesive formulated to bond to a number of different surface types, Tear-Aid believe the product to be unique within the UK marketplace. Where possible, Tear-Aid performs best when it can be applied to both sides of the damaged fabric.

The repair kit has good instructions and is simple to use. I attempted a repair on my child's rain suit that had a small rip in the waterproof fabric. Unfortunately, this product does not survive washing machine cycles. It does not claim to be able to do so but I was trying it out as it says you can do underwater repairs. I believe it will be good to use as intended, just not for clothing that gets washed. Posting this for others who are considering it for this use.

The repair patch kit arrived very quickly by post. I have used it on one repair already to a jacket. The repair patch was easy to apply and it is holding up well.

Bought this to repair some holes in my drysuit (encounter with a bush). Easy to apply and seems to work perfectly. Tested it yesterday on the Washburn with no problems - recommended.
