The Ray Mears Leather Compass Case is a beautiful, hand-stitched sleeve, re-designed in 2016 specifically to fit the Silva Expedition S Compass. It will also accommodate the Silva Expedition 15TDCL and Suunto MC-2 Mirror Compasses. Alternatively, it is an equally useful case for carrying your three forms of fire lighting or other small pieces of equipment.

The Leather Compass Case features a generous belt loop attachment on the rear panel, but is also small enough to be simply popped into your pocket. A slot in the top of the case allows for any cord attached to your compass to pass through. The integral flap is closed with a brass Sam Browne stud. All edges are hand finished in burnished dark brown with a traditional crease line and stitching is done by hand with a strong and distinctive braided thread.

All of our leather goods are hand-made in England by a craftswoman with over three decades of experience. All leathers are vegetable tanned with full, natural grain, and are hand-dyed in house to the unique Woodlore colour.

Returns

A full refund or exchange will be given provided that the items have not been worn or used, and are returned to us within 30 days of purchase, together with all relative labels and packaging. You are responsible for the cost of returning items.

I BOUGHT ONE YEARS AGO & JUST CAME BACK TO BUY TWO MORE. I HAVE TWO SUUNTO MIRROR COMPASSES & PLAN TO BUY A THIRD SOON = PREPPER. I LOVE THE CASE AS ITS VERY WELL MADE & FITS THE SUUNTO PERFECTLY. NICE LEATHER & CANVAS ITEMS ARE COMING BACK WHICH IS GREAT AS I WAS BORN IN 1960 & REMEMBER WHEN THEY WERE COMMONPLACE & WE TOOK THEM FOR GRANTED. IT'S NOT JUST NOSTALGIA AS THE QUALITY & LONGEVITY OF LEATHER & CANVAS BEATS MADE ANY DAY OF THE WEEK & THEY AGE WITH YOU LIKE AN OLD FRIEND! THEY BOTH SMELL NICE & FEEL BETTER THAN MAN MADE FABRICS. I PAINT THE LEATHER WITH FABSIL GOLD & NOURISH WITH AUSTRALIAN LEATHER CREAM TO SOFTEN & WATERPROOF. THE COLOUR DEEPENS NICELY. NOT USED IT YET AS I HAVE CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE IN MY LEGS & ONE OF MY DOGS WENT BLIND STOPPING ME CAMPING BUT THE ODD THING IS IT IS COMFORTING TO OWN A DCENT COMPASS & CASE. A little tight fit wise for the Suunto MC2 compass, but just about gets in. Need to get the leather balm as it is very dry leather.

I have a range of compasses, none of which had a protective cover or casing. I bought this pouch for my Silva Ranger S, which fits nicely in the pouch with even a little bit of room to spare. I used the extra room to add a small pencil (carving projects) and a cheatsheet I made for determining plants/trees. My baseplate compass (Recta DT200) fits the pouch also, so it will travel way more safely in my backpack from now on (if I choose to use that one instead of the Ranger S). Excellent piece of kit which has a multitude of uses. I wasn't even aware that it had a roomy belt loop, another plus!! Shipping was once again excellent, I live in Belgium and most parcels arrive within 3 days.

Very pleased with this item. I have the Suunto MC-2 Global and it fits perfectly. These are luxurious items to protect your gear but I think that’s good because it helps you value and look after your gear better. Just my thoughts haha. You won’t be disappointed :)
