We were inspired by Ray Mears to go camping at Cochise Stronghold and to hike to Skeleton Canyon (the same path as Geronimo). This little device will come in mighty handy when trying to start our fire. Splendid.

Simple but effective, takes a bit of practice to aim it at the sun and get the focus in the right place, but when you do, that piece of tinder goes up easily. Quite surprised how easily it worked on various materials, from the supplied fat-wood to simple shavings or a small piece of kindling. Now I just need the rain to stop.

it was easy to find the item I wanted the web site was easy to order from and delivery was quick, after the hot weekend it was so easy to use the Solar fire starter and within seconds I had an ember with some char cloth.
