The Woolpower Ullfrotte Original 200g Zip Turtleneck is a superb base layer which can be worn in cold conditions throughout the year. Made from a blend of merino wool and polyamide, it performs best when worn directly next to the skin.

The Woolpower 200g Turtleneck is made using a circular knit fabric, which helps to reduce the number of seams needed, thus improving comfort. Because of its construction and material, this garment helps to wick moisture away from the skin, keeping you dry when active. The insulative properties of wool mean that it is capable of retaining body heat even when damp. Each garment features a terry-knit soft inner in fine merino wool, reinforced with polyamide for better wear-resistance, making it comfortable yet durable.

I bought one of these over 10 years ago and have loved it. It had succumbed to age and worn thin under the arms, so I thought I would treat myself to a new one (having been slightly surprised they are still available!) So it arrives. Mmm, nice, cosy but a bit snug. I’m a 36” chest and a size 12 in general and it’s verging on too small even though the sizing says it should have been fine. Too late anyway, I’ve binned the box and removed the labels, I’m living with it. It was £80. It’s a bit small, tight in the arms, and after 3 days of wear it looks tatty because the pilling on the arms is quite extreme. I still like it, it’s warm, it’s comfy, it’s .ok, I’m disappointed in it if I’m honest. It was £80 and it’s not as good as a merino base layer I bought from Aldi for £20. I was giving it 3*, but writing this has made me feel more disappointed so I’m dropping it to 2*. Sorry guys, not worth it!

Really nice fit , good to wear next to the skin. Definitely going to buy another one when this one wears out. Great to wear over a tee shirt under bike leathers. Hope they start stocking the Woolpower skull caps. As always, excellent service from woodlore.

This item was purchased for a family member to use whilst skiing in France. It was worn with just a Gortex jacket. Skiing in temperatures went down to minus 10 degrees. This garment kept my family member dry and warm. It was washed and used all week, with nothing but the Jacket whilst out side. My family member very impressed with the clothing. Woolpower garments are to be his choice of clothing for the future.

I believe its a must for winter Backpacking or hiking. Good quality and awesome moisture wicking ability. Feels really nice and comfortable next to body. Extremely happy with it. Absolutely worth the money. Thank you Woodlore!

These tops are great, soft warm and great quality. Zipped front helps regulate the heat if it’s gets a little warm, the turtleneck collar fits snug and is comfortable, soft wool.

I bought the green top a couple of weeks ago and was impressed with the overall quality of the garment, I bought a black one. This is also exceptionally well made. It has a soft wool pile inside so there is no itching, it is very comfortable to wear, I wear this under tee shirt for extra layer in the morning whilst out walking the dogs. I have been waiting for the winter as an excuse to wear it all this time. I am a 42 inch chest, this fits snug and is not tight, there is a little room for movement the sleeve length just right. Overall it is a great product.

Light, comfortable and warm. I have had base layers in the past which worked on compression they were fine but you knew you were wearing them. That is not the case with this Woolpower 200g top, put it on and forget it. Your body is allowed to breathe. The top weighs very little and takes up the smallest of space in your kit bag so it can always be there as an extra layer when you need it. I have worn it for several days and there has never been any trace of odour retention. Wear a protective layer over the top (unless you are sleeping) as I would imagine it is easy to snag the delicate material no matter how careful you are, it is mainly fine wool. I am so pleased that I intend to purchase other Woolpower garments in the future. Thank you Woodlore, superb product.

A very comfortable mid weight merino fleece. Woolpower garments have excellent quality and feel great. The black garment is particularly good as I can wear it out with my family without my wife raising her eyes at the 'green' colour. Combine this with a 400g top and an outer shell and you are good even in the coldest temperatures (though maybe not the fast as you will generate a lot of heat). Overall, an excellent piece of clothing.
