As a relatively long-distance walker throughout the years 10-20 miles per day, fortnightly, I appreciate it's warmth and reliable comfort when outdoors (in my alternative home) and it's inspiring use of new technologies to make best use of Merino and Woolpower's innovative knitting processes. A good piece of cold-weather kit to have, particularly when it's not Tee-Shirt weather.

Quite simply one of the best outdoor clothing products I have ever purchased. Looks great, feels great, I immediately bought a second one.

Wonderful piece of kit. I'm a big believer in having good quality base layers and usually go for Marino wool products. Having read previous reviews and trust in Woodlore's quality products, I new I was safe in giving this turtle neck a go. Size as exactly stated. I ordered a L and I'm a 42 inch chest 6ft tall and it's a perfect fit. The turtle neck is perfectly long in the body to cover your bum. The weather hasn't been cold enough in Britain yet to get a true feel for its thermal properties, but feeling the comforting material against the skin, I have no doubts that this will be a perfect addition to my base layering.

Comfort and warmth straight from the box. Fit and hang is exceptional. I haven't had it off. Wish I had bought one years ago. The surface is fluffy after use so not sure how it will hold up over time. Good zip. Best base layer I have ever owned. This teamed with a thin merino underneath, a Swanndri bushshirt and a windproof is a cracking set up. The length covers the bum and groin which I like alot. Going to order the 400g to see whats its like and expect good things.

I bought one of these over 10 years ago and have loved it. It had succumbed to age and worn thin under the arms, so I thought I would treat myself to a new one (having been slightly surprised they are still available!)

So it arrives. Mmm, nice, cosy but a bit snug. I'm a 36'� chest and a size 12 in general and it's verging on too small even though the sizing says it should have been fine. Too late anyway, I've binned the box and removed the labels, I'm living with it.

It was £80.

It's a bit small, tight in the arms, and after 3 days of wear it looks tatty because the pilling on the arms is quite extreme. I still like it, it's warm, it's comfy, it's .ok, I'm disappointed in it if I'm honest. It was £80 and it's not as good as a merino base layer I bought from Aldi for £20.

I was giving it 3*, but writing this has made me feel more disappointed so I'm dropping it to 2*. Sorry guys, not worth it!

Absolutely fantastic base layer and general attire. I used this 200g and the 400g from Woolpower on a recent expedition to the Arctic and it was absolutely first class. I found that it kept me warm enough to be comfortable, but also allowed me to run cold enough to not sweat excessively - a valuable dual benefit in such low temperatures. I found that in an environment without clothes washing facilities it is perfect for me due to the ease of airing out. I took x2 200g zip-turtlenecks with me and had no problems with maintaining good personal hygiene. It would have been an entirely different story with synthetic base layers. I am thrilled with this product and will be hard pressed to find anything I prefer any time soon. The sizing guide
and fit is accurate, it allows for air to be trapped close to the body without being too baggy and cumbersome. I also like how it is a bit longer than one would expect, meaning you won't experience any untucking and therefore cold spots when reaching overhead or adding/removing any layers of clothing. Top drawer!

This top is warm the moment you put it on. It has very generous length in the body and arms so no worries about any uncomfortable draughts.
I wore it on a frosty evening with just a wind proof outter and it was very cosy whilst cycling.

I purchased this item in spring 2021 just in case there is a price increase later this year, it is a very well made item and fitted perfectly. I was worried when I ordered it that the turtleneck might be annoying on the underside of my chin like some garments are but it was still soft enough when in contact. It has been a bit chilly where I live in the east of England but probably not cold enough to test it fully, I think it will do the job it was purchased for with flying colours. A decent bit of kit for the money, glad I got it.

I could tell this was good quality. I was impressed with how warm it was even with just an outer jacket on.
I am hoping for a few more cold days and what with my long John's I recently purchased. I think I'm sorted for a while. I specifically like the Turtle neck collar which fits nicely around the neck and also how light it feels. Highly recommend.

I work outside and struggle with the cold these days. I have bought various thermals in the past but these are by far the best, layered with other clothing. They are more expensive than any I have bought previously but well worth the money. Comfortable and easy to wash too and don't smell after particularly active days.

Purchased one of these for the coming winter months, use will be a mixture of dog walking, quad biking and nights out on the rabbits.
The main criteria for me is fit and feel.
The fit is superb, I have a 39'� chest but quite broad shouldered, it fits snuggly without restricting movement due to its stretch properties.
The best buy bit is that it comes down just below my butt cheeks when tucked in, which means you can pull a bit of slack above the belt line to aid movement without it ever riding up and exposing the lower back. Great.
It is pleasant against the skin, not at all harsh or itchy. It's also very warm, it does soak up sweat which is the point of a base layer, though doesn't seem to transfer the moisture into the next layer as well as some I have had in the past.
Fine whilst working and keeping moving but if stood for long periods it can feel a little clammy. It dries quite quickly though.
Great with the neck zipped up to the chin it saves using a neck tube as well and can easily be unzipped to regulate temps.

Really nice fit , good to wear next to the skin. Definitely going to buy another one when this one wears out. Great to wear over a tee shirt under bike leathers. Hope they start stocking the Woolpower skull caps. As always, excellent service from woodlore.

This garment is one of several items of Woolpower clothing that I have purchased from Woodlore. I have found that it keeps you dry by wicking moisture away from your body. Clothing keeps you very warm in cold weather. Ideal when using as part of a layering system. Would certainly purchase more of this clothing from Woodlore. Delivery service was excellent.

This item was purchased for a family member to use whilst skiing in France. It was worn with just a Gortex jacket. Skiing in temperatures went down to minus 10 degrees. This garment kept my family member dry and warm.
It was washed and used all week, with nothing but the Jacket whilst out side. My family member very impressed with the clothing. Woolpower garments are to be his choice of clothing for the future.

Fabulous garment. My previous one lasted 12 years of hard use before the moths then ate it. So pleased to have another. May seem like a high price but it's a robust, good quality product that just last years and years.

An excellent piece of kit! I have used these Ulfrotte tops for several years and find them amazingly warm and comfortable. The wool does pile and threads can be pulled on branches etc. In my opinion nothing compares for warm, weight, comfort and layer ability. Combine with the heavier Ulfrotte tops when it's really cold.

I believe its a must for winter Backpacking or hiking. Good quality and awesome moisture wicking ability. Feels really nice and comfortable next to body. Extremely happy with it. Absolutely worth the money. Thank you Woodlore!

Was slightly worried when ordering in a size small being a size 10 but perfect size with space. I am impressed with this bit of kit, it's light to carry and surprisingly warm. Great for camping, I hope to test it on a long hike. I'm relying on this to keep me warm at night when camping. It does the job very well, you get what you pay for.

I used to have a set of thermals which I wore while spending a winter season in Ontario Canada. But these are even better. I've recommended them to my family and I regularly wear these thermals around the house as a comfy lounge outfit.

These tops are great, soft warm and great quality. Zipped front helps regulate the heat if it's gets a little warm, the turtleneck collar fits snug and is comfortable, soft wool.

Warm and comfortable. Works well with a T-shirt underneath or directly on bare skin. Highly recommended.

I bought the green top a couple of weeks ago and was impressed with the overall quality of the garment, I bought a black one. This is also exceptionally well made. It has a soft wool pile inside so there is no itching, it is very comfortable to wear, I wear this under tee shirt for extra layer in the morning whilst out walking the dogs. I have been waiting for the winter as an excuse to wear it all this time. I am a 42 inch chest, this fits snug and is not tight, there is a little room for movement the sleeve length just right. Overall it is a great product.
