A really well built rucksack that's going to outlast me! It blends in well to surroundings when I'm out in local woods with hammock/bivvi. I like the fact that it's so customisable - zip up the sides and I have a spacious day pack, unzip them and I have adequate space for an overnighter. Although I haven't bought side pouches, I'm sure that with them it can be used for multi day trips too. My new favourite piece of kit.

Bought this for a few different purposes but it's first outing was a 3 day hike in the Alps and it was fantastic. My only reservation when ordering was that I couldn't see any reference to a pouch inside it for a hydration bladder and holes to feed the hose. To my delight this did indeed exist and so that made it even better than I had hoped. Comfortable, rugged and a great size with the ease of expansion due to the straps and clips that work with side pouches or other systems (like the tactical hydration system) I can't fault this pack in anyway! Looking forward to using it more and hopefully on a bushcraft course next year!

Regarded as the ideal bushcraft bag. I concur. It’s features are well thought out and to the untrained eye, unnoticed. Exactly as it should be.

Strong daypack. I have bigger, lighter packs but this is robust. Takes a water bladder nicely. Not the thickest padding on shoulder straps but perfectly comfortable on first use and sits well. I'm 6'2' and 13.5st, no issues with sizing. Only one use so far but this will be good for a long time.

Awesome, just awesome. Made so well. Fits so much. I highly recommend getting a waterproof Karrimor SF 90l dry bag for it.

I purchased this pack 4 years ago and it is as strong today as when I first got it. I believe a review should be done after an extensive period of use, so here's my thoughts. If you are looking for a backpack for long hiking trips then this is not the pack to choose, that's not to say it couldn't be used for those type of trips but there are designs that offer more pro's for backpacking, thru hikes etc. Look for something with an adjustable back system which are also light for those type of excursions. The Karrimor Sabre 45 is designed to be loaded up with gear and tools, perfect for trekking through environments where you could get snagged on branches and thorns. It's an ideal pack to throw over your shoulders from car to camp, that's not to say that your car needs to be close to the camp as I have had this pack on my back for several hours at a time. I have used this pack on canoe trips and has great lashing points to secure it to the canoe incase of a capsize. I have put this pack through its paces and have loaded it with a fare amount of weight, there are no signs of wear and tears as of yet. I love the versatility of this pack as I have used it without the side pouches for an overnight camp in the woods and with the pouches for more extensive stays. You cannot go wrong with this rucksack as it is built to last. It is made from quality materials, I highly recommend it as it serving me very well.

The Sabre 45 has a long established reputation for quality and refinement in features. I can confirm that this is indeed the case. The build quality is of a very high standard and of robust design as you would expect a military specification pack to be. The down side of that is that it is not the lightest option.
I was looking for a one for all pack, light enough to carry rain gear etc. for my family and myself on day hikes but which could expand to carry enough gear for an overnight camp trip.
Having used it a number of times now I would feel that this pack is a little large for a day hike where a 30 o 35litre or possible less may be better suited. But, as a compromise it meets both requirements well.
I made my decision to buy the Sabre 45 over the Predator 45 due to absence of well padded waist belt on the Predator which is I feel is very important to support larger pack weigh off the hips and not the back.
As I had quite a few Molle pouches the lack of Molle webbing was a disadvantage for me. This I solved by purchasing the Predator PLCE Molle side panels.
One further tip I can offer is that I have used a PLCE day pack yoke and PLCE side pockets for years. This is a very good addition and ideal for light day hikes. It greatly increases the versatility of the Sabre system when used in combination. I was surprised to find however that the male part of the quick release clips on my ex military day sack yoke were not compatible with the female part of the karrimor SF quick release clips. The problem is that the original military specification male clip length is 0.8mm shorter that the newer Karrimor SF version.
I was able to solve this problem by sanding 0.8mm off the length of the Karrimor SF female part of the clip which allowed both versions to connect properly. The same problem is not evident in the reverse combination as the longer karrimor SF male clip will fit the older military female clip. If you were using the Karrimor day yoke harness I doubt the problem would arise.
I’m very happy that following the above combinations and modifications I have a system perfectly suited to my needs. I think the pack is extremely well built, versatile and can be easily customised to the needs of the individual and application.
