The Silky Fox Bigboy Outback Saw is one of a new line of folding saws from Silky Fox. They have been designed specifically for outdoors and hunting use.

This saw features a black coating of a unique nickel and tin blend on its blade, including the teeth. This provides a long blade life and an incredible cutting performance, not only in wood but also when sawing bones. In addition, the dark, non-reflective colour makes this saw particularly suitable for tactical operations.

The blade is taper ground to reduce resistance giving smoother, easier, faster cutting performance, and the four cutting angles along the blade length leaves a smooth surface after cutting. This blade can rip-cut, cross-cut and slant-cut. During manufacture the teeth of the blade are heated instantly and hardened, this will enable them to stay sharp about three times longer than non-hardened teeth.

The arbor composite handle has a warm and comfortable touch. No matter the cold or wet conditions, this handle offers a safe grip and superior control.

The blade can be locked in two positions and when not in use, you can fold it so that the sharp teeth are completely covered in the handle.

Fantastic saw, pricey but this is a solid bit of kit to be used time and again. Sharp, easy to use and I managed to process so much more wood than usual on a recent scout camp. This was also used on fallen trees for bushcraft shelters.

So far the saw seems very good quality but let down by the assembly. Within a days use trail clearing the retaining screw had become so loose it had nearly backed all the way out. I have since tightened and it has not come loose since. The blade cuts very well and will go through a 5 inch tree limb with relative ease. The handle grip is impressive even when used with sweaty hands or when wet. So far the blade has showed no sign of wear but time will tell for the durability. For the price it would be nice if it was supplied with the belt holder as the zip up case is not practical when being used on the go. Overall very impressive but let down by a few simple things. Delivery was very quick. I had to age verify and the saw was still delivered the next day.

Great service from Woodlore, fast service and prompt delivery. I bought the Silky Fox Big Boy Outback Saw because I saw the guy on the Survival Russia YouTube channel using it instead of a chain saw. I have a very hilly garden area with many trees that are not totally safe for using a chain saw on, so I decided to try the Silky saw. It's as good as I hoped , it cuts easily small branches that are to just to big for a lopper up to substantial branches.
