  This was bought as a Christmas present for my son. Communication was very good, shipping was quick and the book was delivered ahead of schedule. I had a sneaky peek before wrapping it and look forward to having some of the recipes cooked for me! My son has been delighted with the book and is enjoying reading it as well as looking forward to cooking up a storm. Great choice!

  A great read, I could not put it down. I cannot wait to see Mr Mears in Bury St Edmunds for his show as I went there last time Mr Mears came here. I have all of his books and DVD's and I hope he keeps coming. I hope you are all well and keeping safe.

  Fantastic read, have read it cover to cover several times since it has arrived. As usual Ray has put together a well thought out and well presented book and I would recommend this for the outdoors lover and a great idea for those Autumn and Winter afternoon/evenings in front of the fire with a winter warmer.

  As an ex British Army chef with a number of years of experience cooking in various conditions, and a scout leader who ended up undertaking a lot of the cooking on the annual scout camps and at scouting events I was interested to read this book. I must admit I like the way the subject of what items of equipment are needed and why is covered at the beginning of the book. A great reference tool for someone who is planning to undertake cooking for themselves or a group of people in the outdoors or even for an outside event. An easy to read book. Maybe a copy in hardback instead of soft cover. Make sure to get it covered as I can see this book being taken on camping trips and other outdoor events. The issues of health, safety and hygiene are covered. Good to see. The recipes are worth a go. Although venison on a scout troop budget maybe a little out of reach, (recipe for venison stroganoff is excellent). I will be recommending to all my friends who are in the scouting movement and friends who enjoy the outdoor life.
