Over my lifetime, I have used a number of different gaiters, some cheap others very expensive. I think we always pay for the name. But saying that, I totally love these gaiters. But please don't misunderstand what I am now about to say, if I could get a new pair of XCR gore-tex gaiters I would. So that being said. These are just brilliant. I use them about 4-5 times a week. I have always preferred that they fit tight around the boot, as this hinders water ingress the best should you step into a deeper puddle than you were hoping not to. I also prefer the strap on the inside as it's much simpler to get to, not as shown in the photo. The zip can be very difficult at first to zip, but in time and with use they tend to give a little, and zipping up becomes more easy. These get very wet and extremely dirty and muddy, and my trousers bottoms are never wet or muddy/. I never have any issues walking through thorns or brambles, and never get anything in my boots, which is an absolute blessing. I have heard of this brand before but never ever used their kit but will be taking a much closer look. I don't put my gaiters in the washing machine, just rinse in cold water and place in the airing cupboard. I do like the fact that it seems as if the boot strap is replaceable, if this is true then this is a very big plus for me. I only have one issue with these, it is that the zips are either both left or both righthand, and I find this sometimes really difficult to put them on. The XCR's had a left and a right zip, and this made them so much simpler to put on. But I did have to send a pair back because of a faulty zip, but I brought a new pair, I was given a free shipping label to send the old ones back, and my refund was in my account in three days.
So the service from Woodlore is just what I would expect, perfect. And if you are looking for gaiters look no further. These are not cheap, but you won't regret buying them after using them a few times and seeing what they can do for your walking days.
