The Swazi AEGIS Kagoule is made from a 3-layer AEGIS® knit fabric which is soft, light, very quiet and of course, very waterproof. This shorter length jacket is an ideal alternative to the full length Swazi/Ray Mears AEGIS Tahr XP Anorak.

A windproof, waterproof and breathable membrane, AEGIS is in fact the most breathable fabric ever incorporated into Swazi garments. The three-layered fabric provides absolute protection from rain, snow and wind, and has been proven in independent tests to be every bit as waterproof and windproof as their old fabrics. What these tests also showed was enhanced breathability, a factor so important in any waterproof garment. As always, the Kagoule remains soft, light, incredibly quiet and unbelievably comfortable.

We spent two years developing face fabrics and testing laminates. Once we were sure we had the fabrics and membrane right, we built some test garments and supplied these to our Swazi Test Pilots around the world. The feedback was amazing. 100% satisfaction. Even for us, a company extremely experienced in fabricating protective outdoorwear, the result was unheard of. AEGIS Watershield surpassed our expectations and we are sure they will surpass yours. - Swazi

Had the jacket for almost 2 and half years now. Initially I raised a concern with Swazi about some defects on the jacket. I was assured it was cosmetic and wouldn’t effect the jacket, with regards to letting water in. Pleased to say the jacket is still water proof. I’m not particularly bothered about the aesthetics of the jacket, but felt it fare to rise on what was a very new jacket with very little use at the time. Also it having a hefty price tag and being sold as a premium product- you would expect better. The draw string on the jacket is also useless and doesn’t hold. I can see that braking shortly. It’s an ok jacket. Definatly not worth the price though. I don’t see it lasting as long as past jackets. This was my first Swazi jacket, and will be my last.

Fantastic piece of kit, delivered very promptly. Tested that weekend on Dartmoor in driving rain and wind during some strenuous hillwalking and wild camping, very impressed with its design and performance. Used since many times on training courses outdoors, I like the simple uncluttered design, fitting very well. (I'm 6 ft 2 inches, chose a large after following the measurements and found it roomy enough for extra layers but good over a single thin layer too). Not normally a fan of hoods, this one definitely lives up to its reputation as not blocking peripheral vision while still being effective. Expensive product but well worth it so far, I can see this giving me many years of use, thank you Woodlore.
