Savotta Sleeping Mat

  Warm and durable sleeping mat. Very quick to set up and put away. The flaps are useful for keeping the mat dry when rolled and for when sleeping on wet ground if you roll of it a little bit. The order was dispatched and delivered quickly. Very pleased, good price for a mat considering the quality and durability.

  This is an incredibly simple yet functional bit of kit. Kept me dry while sleeping in a bog and is actually warmer than my inflatable sleeping pad with the same R value. The integrated elastic straps are genius and the fold out 'ground sheet' massively improves quality of life while on muddy ground. This bit of kit will not let you down.

  I've been involved with Bushcraft for over 35 years, during that time have used many types of sleeping mats in varying climates. I was recommended to the Savotta mat by a Scandinavian friend who swore by it and having used it for the first time I was amazed as to just how versatile it is. It's surprisingly comfortable and offers good insulation from the cold ground. Its best features are the extra fold out wing pieces along the sides. This is great if you're sleeping in a muddy area (which I often do) and you want to keep your kit from getting messy. My only criticism is that when rolled us it's a little bulky but that's a small price to pay for such a quality item. I would highly recommend the Savotta sleeping mat to anyone who is looking for a good night sleep whilst out in the wilderness.

  I’ve been using this as a mat on day trips, something to throw down, wherever. I’ve really enjoyed the width which means there’s plenty of room to sit/lie down and enjoy some time watching what’s around. It fits nicely under my Savotta Jaakari small. A really useful bit of kit.

  Spent 3 nights on hard surface to test. After 3 nights I went back to my bed only to find I had an uncomfortable sleep. So May get rid of the bed and just use the mat. Does as it says on the tin, cant fault it. Delivery was fast and I was constantly kept in the loop so good company as well.

  A great piece of kit. Not too heavy or big, just right for carrying and sleeping on. I've only used it in my hammock and it was great, no cold spots anywhere once I got into my sleeping bag, the sides fitted perfectly around me, helping to keep me snug. Ordering and using the website was easy and hassle free, when I first tried to order the mat it was out of stock but I used the contact me when back in stock option and that is exactly what they did. Delivery was very quick and also hassle free. I feel that because of my whole experience of both the mat and the website, I would not hesitate to recommend either. All in all I am very happy with my purchase and will use the Ray Mears Bushcraft website again.

  Love this bit of kit or any other by Savotta. I’ve slept out on this a few times already and appreciate it’s quality and durability. Don’t be put off by its bulk. It’s light enough not to notice.

  I am pleased with my Savotta Sleeping Mat. I like the built in groundsheet. The sleeping mat is fairly bulky and due to its thinness it doesn't provide much comfort. I am thinking of using it in conjunction with a lightweight inflatable pad as it will provide some insulation as well as protecting the pad from punctures. On the whole I am happy with my purchase.

  Great item! I purchased this to replace an 8 year old 3 1/4 thermarest air pad. The mat came nicely packaged. On inspection of the mat, straight away you can appreciate the craftsmanship and fore thought that has gone into the design and manufacturing process of the savotta mat. The materials used in its construction are hard wearing, fully waterproof and rugged. The mat is thick enough to give good insulation from the ground and allows a good nights sleep. The wings either side of the mat are a great innovation and prevent your sleeping bag becoming wet from the ground should you slip of the mat during the night, although thanks to the friction provided by the materials this will not happen. Rolls up to a decent size to store any where on the pack without becoming intrusive whilst walking. Great product.
