  Haven't tested it at above 30 degrees yet or given it the full desert haul treatment so can't truly do a meaningful review in terms of cooling and durability when constantly used in extreme conditions but so far its does what it says on the tin. With that lack of knowledge in mind, the fact that it makes you look like an entitled big game hunting bore unless you hide it under a proper desert scarf and it being shiny poly cotton rather than a linen, silk or viscose cotton mix it gets a 4. Still if you like the millionaire aesthetic, like a bit of shine and fast wicking smart looking dangly bits it's almost certainly gonna be a 5 for you. Whether the fabric is sand and stone durable or not I get the feeling that if the beads don't deteriorate with use I'll be recycling them by stitching them into an old buff or some such for use when the proper desert scarf look is totally inappropriate (walking around Israel or Mar-a-lago comes to mind).   Teamed this up with the 5.11 Taclite Pro Long Sleeve Shirt. This works, and surprisingly doesn't feel damp or wet in use. I intend to make two mods 1) I don't feel it ties very well so next time will either use a woggle or fit a popper, and 2) the 'sausage' holding the water-absorbing crystals is a bit too long. I found that the crystals tend to work their way from the back of the neck to the two ends hanging down at the front. I plan to shorten the 'sausage' by around 2 inches at both ends, with stiching. One other point to bear in mind - when dry this items takes up next to no room at all. But with the crystals fully soaked there is a bulk to it and there is no way to dry it out quickly. Bear that in mind for packing at the end of a trip.

  A great little piece of kit! I have been using this during the recent heat wave in the UK both when being outdoors and also to help keep cool when trying to sleep. I have also used the cooler draped over the front of a fan to help cool the air. It works great!

  This product is great and really works. During the heatwave it really created a cooling effect, even better if it is put in the fridge before, though not necessary. Only criticism is the cost of postage £6 for such a small light item seems excessive when it is half the cost of the product!

  I purchased this body cooler about four weeks ago and I have had plenty of time to test it during this heat wave, I have found this to be a fantastic and easy way to keep cool. This item really does work and I cannot recommend it highly enough. 3 weeks ago I spent 3 days working in a party tent for 10 hours a day, the temperature went over 100 degrees fahrenheit and this thing really kept me cool, so if you’re thinking about buying one go and buy it it is well worth it, Paul.
