The Therm-A-Rest BaseCamp Sleeping Mattress is an exceptionally comfortable sleeping mat for year-round use. The internal solid foam creates a warmer and more stable sleeping mattress which expands when unpacked for easy self-inflation.

While the design of other sleeping mats is often based around keeping the weight and pack size down, the focus here is on warmth and comfort. As such, the BaseCamp mattress is ideal for those travelling by vehicle or situated at a static camp, for whom a little extra weight and volume is not an issue.

Crafted on a foundation of time-tested materials and components, the BaseCamp mattress is surprisingly luxurious and roomy. The thoughtful face fabrics are light and soft for your comfort. With a full 5 cm of padding, this mattress provides a high level of warmth and support, even when sleeping on your side. The BaseCamp mat is based on a straightforward, workhorse design that has been providing dependable comfort under the stars for over 40 years.

The versatile self-inflating pad features the high-performance WingLock™ valve, allowing the pad to inflate three times faster thanks to a larger opening and one-way inflation.

I bought this due to getting older and having a dodgy hip - I'm a side sleeper so the extra padding is much appreciated, still got my original Thermarest bought thirty years ago, good product well made, recommended

Easily inflates, comfortable and warm. Easy to deflate and stow away. Woodlore despatched very quickly in time for our camping trip after amazon had let us down at short notice (and slightly cheaper).

I have used a variety of sleeping mattresses but this is the first one that is actually comfortable. It provides support and does keep you from touching the ground even when laying on your side. Although badged as basecamp it is not too heavy to take on a hike given the good night’s sleep if offers! Before use it is worth leaving 24 hours with the value open to plump up so when it is used in camp it will self-inflate quickly.

Bought this in the hope it would provide a comfortable night's sleep on the hard-as-a-board beds found on holiday. I am pleased to report it has worked a treat! It rolls up small enough to fit in a medium sized case and is now an essential on my packing list. Very easy to inflate and deflate.
