These Noble Wilde Gloves have been created from a special blend of fine merino wool and insulating possum fur, making them a luxurious winter glove that will provide a superb amount of warmth while remaining extremely light in weight. The idea of blending these two natural fibres was first developed by a New Zealand knitter as a by-product of the possum control programme, making the merino/possum blend an environmentally sound choice.

For many years now, Woodlore have stocked the Noble Wilde Beanie, a best-selling item which has proved extremely popular among our fellow outdoorsmen and women year after year. As such, it seemed like an obvious choice to also stock their gloves. If you're a fan of their hats, these gloves will no doubt be a welcome addition to your winter wardrobe.

Possum fur is one of the most extraordinary natural fibres in the world, thanks to its hollow core; this cavity traps a tunnel of air that provides extraordinary warmth (up to 30% more than standard woollen garments), while keeping the fibre's weight to a minimum.

Merino wool also has unique characteristics; each fibre is exceptionally fine, long and densely crimped, helping to retain heat close to the skin while keeping out cold air. The fibre also wicks moisture away from the skin, allowing the wool to stay warm and dry. The combination of merino wool with possum fur results in a fabric that is lightweight, twice as warm as wool, highly resistant to pilling and opulently soft to the touch.

Two synthetic fibres have been added to the mix. These fibres help to provide a hard-wearing outer surface to the gloves, while retaining just the right amount of stretch to give a firm fit to the hand. Please note these gloves are a snug fit; as such we would recommend choosing the next size up if you are unsure of the correct sizing.

This is the second pair I've bought. These I find are an improved version. They appear to be just as warm, and they feel harder wearing and slightly elasticated fit, which I prefer.

Having got a Noble Wilde beanie (2 now actually) as part of my essential winter kit I wanted to add their gloves. My hand size fell exactly on one of the measurement guide sizes so ordered accordingly. When they came (very quickly) they were a very good fit, were light, warm and easy to pack. They also seemed to have the good temperature management like my beanie hats. I think they'll also be part of my essential winter kit.

Gloves fit great. Love the feel and warmth. Customer service is very responsive and fast. I had an issue with my first order and they replaced them within a week and half. Fast shipping from the UK, took about a little over a week to arrive, pretty fast from overseas. I would recommend getting these gloves while they are in stock, they sold out fast last year and winter was over before they were able to restock.

Arrived quickly. These gloves are so warm. I wear them down to about 10 degrees Fahrenheit for two hour walks. Obviously, the wind will get through, but still warm. They fit great in my leather work gloves too.

Best gloves I've ever had. Well-fitting, very warm, slim, soft and affordable. I've worn them in temperatures up to -14c (minor wind chill) and they've held up great and kept my hands warm. I've bought two pairs because somebody lost one from my old pair. I thought I had lost them again(!) and was about to buy a third pair when I rediscovered my second pair. Honestly, you can't go wrong with these unless you're going into seriously cold weather.
