Grandpa’s Pine Tar Soap – A Cure for PUPPPs?
PUPPPs, a little-known skin condition which can affect mothers during the late stages of pregnancy, is in fact the most common rash found in pregnant women. However, despite affecting 1 in every 200 first-time mothers on average, there is currently no known cure.
Short for pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy, the foremost symptom of PUPPPs is a redness which begins on the abdomen, often spreading to the legs, feet, arms, chest and face. This rash is linked with severe itching which, while presenting no long-term risk for either the mother or baby, can be unbearable for the mother.
Now, what does all this have to with Woodlore I hear you ask?
It just so happens that Ray Mears‘ soap of choice has been found to offer great relief from this painful condition. Grandpa’s Wonder Pine Tar Soap, as found in the washbags of outdoorsmen the world over, has found a new following in mothers-to-be following numerous reports of its soothing qualities for PUPPPs.
Stories abound of sufferers claiming to have tried everything their doctors could prescribe, only to find that the best relief was given by a humble bar of this pine tar soap. So, if you or your partner are in need of relief from PUPPPs, order your Pine Tar Soap from Woodlore today.

My wife started using this soap when she was pregnant with my son. We have been using it ever since. I love the smell. Now only if they could capture the smell of burning marshmellows with that campfire smell.

@Sean Morgan ”The wood smoke smell brings back fond memories of the many campfires of my past” Couldn’t agree more, my friend.
The quintessential smell of Bushcraft to me is Wood Smoke and Fatwood.

I have used this soap for years!
I love this soap. I especially like it while on trips in the bush as it really helps fight the smell of perspiration.
The wood smoke smell brings back fond memories of the many campfires of my past.
