The Fjällraven company had its humble beginnings back in 1960, running from a small basement in the town of Örnsköldsvik. Equipped with little more than his mother's sewing machine, founder Åke Nordin began producing garments tough enough to withstand the long, demanding winters of Northern Sweden. Ever since, Fjällraven have continued with this quest, earning the reputation of a company reliable for making functional, hard-wearing outdoor clothing.

The Brenner Trousers have been especially developed by Fjällraven for hunting and forest activities, making them an ideal piece of kit for use in bushcraft. As tried and tested by Ray in Northern Sweden, the main priorities of these trousers are to keep the wearer "silent, dry and warm".

The Brenners are a tough, comfort-fit trouser, made from Fjällraven's classic G-1000® Silent material. This densely woven fabric is a blend of 65% polyester and 35% cotton, making the material windproof and outstandingly hardwearing. This outer layer is also water-resistant thanks to a Greenland Wax impregnation. G-1000® also has the ability to wick moisture away from the body. The brushed 'Silent' version of this material, as used here for the Brenner Trousers, is ideal for hunters and other groups that need durable, functional garments that are also quiet. The lining of the Brenner Trousers is made from Hydratic®, a wind- and water-proof fabric that is also highly breathable. It is this liner that gives the Brenner Trousers the edge over the other Fjallraven models we stock, making them ideal for use in cold and/or wet conditions, while still allowing body vapour to escape keeping you at a comfortable temperature.
