Antler pieces have many different uses, especially in the art of knife making. The pieces we stock are from reindeer antler, favoured for their high density and low marrow count.

These L-shaped antler pieces are ideal for antler knife making, both for the handle and the sheath. If working on a project such as this, we highly recommend reading the Antlerknife book.

When sawn widthways, the disc-shaped pieces can be used as spacers for your knife handle. Sawn lengthways, our roll pieces can be split into complete scales and fitted as a handle to a full, broad-tang blade.

For narrow-tang blades, such as our Hand Forged Knife Blade by Julius Pettersson, the antler can be fitted as a handle whole.

L-shapes can also be used as walking stick handles, while smaller pieces can be cut off and used to make handles for fire steels or other small tools.

Please note that, as a natural product, these antler pieces will vary greatly in size and shape. Because of this, we are unable to supply to exact specifications. Please use the following dimensions as a rough guide:

  • Antler Rolls: approximately 11 cm long
  • L-Shaped pieces: between 14 – 20 cm long
