The Fire Steel has become somewhat of a fundamental tool in bushcraft - a surefire way to create sparks for your fire, regardless of weather conditions. We've stocked the popular Fire Stick for many years, and can now also offer these Fire Stick Rods.
Employing the same design and function as our standard Fire Sticks, these rods differ in that they are sold without handles, allowing you to choose and craft your own. Antler and curly birch are firm favourites for making handles out of, but there's no reason not to venture out and try different materials.
Ideal for those who are new to woodworking, and a great gift to anyone interested in getting hands-on with their bushcraft kit.

A robust Fire Stick rod that produces a shower of sparks.

Great rod: large and long-lasting. I made the handle out of willow, as here in south Spain we have no birches, although the search for something to strike it is stressing me out. Recommendable to absolutely anyone: the handle is easier to make than you might think.
