The 3-man Kaitum GT tent is ideal for trips where extra comfort and light weight are higher priorities than maximum strength, but where true all-season, all-weather strength is still needed.

The Kaitum’s ultra-light Kerlon 1200 outer tent fabric and Featherlite 9 mm poles keep total weight to a minimum while providing all-condition strength, and the proven two door/two vestibule tunnel tent design provides outstanding comfort and flexibility. It’s ideal for mobile adventures that involve moving camp frequently, and is equally well-suited for both long and short trips. The Kaitum is outstanding for use in protected terrain in any weather, and is easily robust enough to handle use in exposed and/or above tree-line terrain in all but the worst conditions. The Kaitum is also excellent for warm weather endeavours since the front section of both vestibules can be completely rolled away for maximum air flow.

Backpackers love the Kaitum’s light weight and remarkable roominess, as do paddle and bicycle tourers, who also appreciate its small packed size. Hunters, winter campers, and climbers favour the Kaitum because of its all-season strength, and taller users will find the Kaitum’s plentiful floor space, vertical entrances, and vertical walls a roomy pleasure.

The Kaitum 3 GT goes one spacious step further than the standard Kaitum model with its extended vestibule, and so will appeal to those adventurers who want more room and flexibility. Without a big weight increase, the GT version offers both a regular-sized vestibule, and an extended one, which has two entrances.

• Pitching requires only four pegs, yet the Kaitum’s 18 guy line points provide a myriad of options for increasing stability. Remarkably strong Spectra guy lines are attached at two points to all pole sleeves, and have two line runners each to ensure optimal tension. Each vent also has a guy line with a line runner.
• The Kaitum 3 GT has an impressively spacious interior thanks to its generous width and tunnel design, which creates near-vertical side walls. Full sitting height is offered in the entire inner tent, with a bit more height in the centre. The inner tent length also makes it Hilleberg’s best ultra-light tent for tall users.
• The two entrance/two vestibule design affords tremendous convenience and comfort: one vestibule can be designated for gear stowage, while the other can be used for food preparation or gear sorting. Also, one entrance of the tent can always be situated out of the wind.
• The Kaitum’s ventilation system functions regardless of the weather conditions, since the inner tent fabric is highly breathable yet water repellent. Each end has a large vent, placed high enough to keep air moving even if the tent is dug down into deep snow. Each vent has an adjustable snow-proof panel, accessible from inside the vestibule, which is air permeable even when zipped up. In addition, both inner tent doors have full no-see-um mesh panels covered with equal sized, zipper-adjustable fabric panels.
