Ray and Woodlore are pleased to announce that we now stock the Petzl TacTikka Plus headtorch, a piece of kit that Ray has used on many of his travels over the years. With a huge range of headtorches available on the market today, this is the one that Ray trusts.
A compact and lightweight 4 LED headlamp, the TacTikka Plus also comes fitted with a red flip filter, allowing the easy transition between red and white lighting. With the red filter in place over the LED, the head torch is able to emit a discreet light beam while helping preserve night vision.
The 4 LED torch produces flood beam lighting with a long burn time, and can be adjusted to help conserve battery life. Both the LED and batteries are housed in a single water-resistant compartment, helping to keep the size and weight down to a minimum.
The practical beam can be easily aimed where needed, and is fitted to a comfortable and adjustable elastic headband. A strobe mode is also included, making it perfect for those campfire discos...

This is a simple, light and effective item. Once on your head, the hands become free for other tasks. I have just tested it (in March) on a 6 day camping trip in wet Snowdonia woodland, without problems. The beam is good, the intensity can be changed, and it permits various activities after dark. I have not yet changed the batteries.
The micro switch is protected beneath a flexible cover. In practice it is easier to select the beam type before donning the torch.

To the best of our knowledge, all kit specifications are accurate, although these can vary at times. We aim to dispatch all orders by the next working day.
