When the weather is dry, Rogue's RB-2 Light Trail Boots can often be seen on the feet of Ray and the Woodlore outdoor team. It is this sort of approval that has now led to us stocking the Rogue Desert Boot.
A light and comfortable camping boot, the Rogue Desert has been designed primarily as travel/safari footwear, but is also perfect for casual, everyday wear. With a lightweight crepe sole and soft suede uppers, it's a boot that is comfortable yet strong enough for walking in the bush.
Features a padded top for comfort, and is soft enough to be worn with or without socks.
Sizing: Imported from South Africa, these boots display half-size labels (8 1/2, 9 1/2 etc.) which equate to the UK sizing quoted on our website.

As a lifelong user of desert boots, I REALLY wanted to love these leather-lined ones! However, they were a) a bit too small in the forefoot, and b) have a very annoying, sharp bit of rough leather at the base of the tongue, which sticks into the top of your feet.
This is in complete contrast with my Rogue Trans Africa boots, which have a smooth transition at this point. I'd give the Trans Africa's five stars for their comfort, fit and overall attention to detail. Not so the desert boots, which I have had to return. Even trying a size up didn't help.
Otherwise, a really well made pair of boots, sadly let down by this one, fairly significant design flaw in the tongue. I'm sure they would eventually stretch and soften with use, but at this price you'd expect them to be comfortable from the start!
