DUE TO ONE OF THE COLDEST WINTERS AND HUGE DEMAND FOR THESE GLOVES OUR NEXT DELIVERY HAS UNFORTUNATELY BEEN DELAYED UNTIL WEEK 45.
It's official - The Hestra Guide Glove has now changed its name. Since Winter 2007/8 this glove has been known as The Falt Glove in honour of Lars Falt , Sweden's leading expert in the field of survival training and the founder of the Swedish Armed Forces Survival School. Many of our clients have experienced Lars' expertise first-hand on Woodlore's Arctic Experience course .
Lars advocates quality and care rather than throw-away purchases, choosing a long-lasting pair of Guide Gloves from Hestra to protect his hands.
"These are the best-made gloves that I have ever seen," says Lars, "If you look after your gloves, they will last as long as you want."
Ray also recommends The Hestra Guide Gloves for use in the Arctic and, as with Lars, these gloves have become one of Ray's firm favourites when visiting the frozen North.
These hard-wearing gloves are made entirely of leather and come complete with removable wool liners . This two-part system of separate outer and inner gloves has a number of huge benefits:
Removing the wool liners after use allows both parts to dry much quicker than all-in-one gloves - extremely useful when you're out in the snow day after day
For use over prolonged periods, Ray recommends having a spare pair of Hestra Liners with you, which can then be used while your first pair are left to dry
When dexterity is an issue, the leather outer glove can be used without the liner, offering better feel and control
Details:
Outer material: Upper section of proofed, natural yellow cowhide with proofed, Army Off-white goat leather palm
Glove liner: Wool pile lining on the back with wool terry cloth palm
Eyelet with snap hook to keep your gloves securely attached when not in use
Sizing: As a general rule, your shoe size is often your hand size, but we recommend taking a look at the Hestra size chart
Colour: Natural yellow/Off-white (also available in Brown/Black )
For use in extreme cold, the Guide Glove can be teamed with an over-mitt, such as the
Hestra Seam Sealed Mitt .
A trial sample of
Hestra Leatherbalm is included with each pair of gloves.

Extremly durable gloves, nice and warm in the Norwegian winter. I think they will be useful for many years to come.
