Formerly known as the Mora Training Knife - Clipper, the Morakniv Companion MG Clipper Knife is a new and improved version of their popular entry-stage model, updated for 2011.

The Companion MG Clipper is an excellent knife to use whilst learning basic bushcraft techniques (being sturdy enough to withstand harsh treatment), while still being of a high enough quality to use once you are more proficient in knife work. It features a polished carbon steel, single-bevel blade which sharpens to a fine edge, finished with a half tang and directly-moulded handle for extra strength.

Rather than just having individual areas that are grippy, the handle - which is made from rigid ABS plastic - features a complete overlay of the high-friction material Dryflex, for an improved grip. Being that Dryflex is Latex-free, the Companion Clipper Knife is suitable for those with Latex allergies. The updated handle also features a little more body to the central part of the grip, adding extra comfort.

The sheath is made of strong, olive green ABS plastic and will attach comfortably to most belt widths. The sheath has been totally re-engineered for 2011, incorporating a new thumb-push feature, which makes it easier to draw the knife with one hand. The internal 'Knife Retaining System' in the sheath has also been improved, resulting in a better fit between knfe and sheath, making for added safety.

Woodlore students attending our Fundamental Bushcraft courses will be issued with this knife, while it is also widely used by Woodlore's Instructors and Assistants.

You can use the back of this knife to strike the Fire Stick, but you will need to file it slightly to obtain a rough edge.

First-class delivery. On receipt a first-class product as well for the relatively low price. The Ray Mears logo on the blade is a nice touch. Now to put the Morakniv Companion MG Clipper to some good use.

Received it the next working day, very quick and efficient by Woodlore, this is the start of my first purchase with Woodlore and it shall not be my last. I haven't properly used it yet, however the presentation of the knife was excellent and it is very sharp. For just £10 this is a must buy for beginners of bushcraft or if you need a knife for any other reason. Thanks Woodlore!

The Morakniv Clipper knife is absolutely value for money. At under £10 you have a tool of great importance. It has good comfort and weight and is perfect as a spare for those that have equipment already. Thanks for keeping me outside at an affordable price Ray Mears Bushcraft.

Only 4 stars because I saw one of these get trashed on a recent Woodlore course - the handle broke at the tang. You Tube shows the versatility of the knife and its strength but it can be broken. I like the grip, the fact the blade can be sharpened to a fine razor's edge and it seems to hold that edge when doing carving on softer woods. At this price it's worth having this as a spare in your pack. As the saying goes, 'a knife is your life', so it makes sense to carry a cheap but worthy alternative to your more expensive knife. You never know if you will need that spare.

Fantastic knife very well made very sharp nice colours and easy to use. Overall, its a very practical knife that can take a lot of abuse. Easy to sharpen and holds its edge, I've been using these knives for many years and have never had a problem. Unlike other knives that cost a fortune, this is cheap so you can really get stuck in and if you break it, it won't break the bank. first time I've used woodlore but I'm very happy with the speed and service and will be using them again. 5 star.

I've had this knife for 6 months now and I'm ready to review it. Ridiculously good value for money and perfect for beginners to Bushcraft or knives in general. Has a great feel, Wonderfull grippy handle. Battons, Feathers and Carves perfectly. When used with a firesteel creates showers of sparks. The spine of the knife is a bit thin, but for £10 you can't complain. Sharpens up brilliantly and holds its edge for long. Easy to mantain just clean and oil after each outing. I honestly have no complaints, Woodlore fantastic as always. Wulamallessin :)

An excellent survival tool. I have used knifes costing far more than this and yet do not compare. Something I wouldn't want to be without, great price.

Blacksmith Jim Dickson once said that people who use knives the most are usually those who can least afford them. This being the case, what is extraordinary about the Mora is the price. The best £10.50 I have ever spent.

Fantastic knife with an impressive edge. The handle's shape is just perfect for every task. I own over 150 knives of many qualities from bad to exceptional, and this one is just the best tool for my outdoor activities (very good blade, very comfortable handle, light and tought sheath, VERY LOW weight). Price is realy ridiculous compared to the quality of this knife.
