The Norrona Recon Jacket is a superb GORE-TEX garment for use both in the UK and overseas, offering fantastic protection from wind, rain and snow. This jacket comes highly recommended by the Woodlore team and is worn during UK courses and in the Arctic, where the jacket is in its element!

In the words of Norrona themselves, the Recon Jacket is "solid upper-body protection developed with Norwegian, Swedish and Danish Special Forces. Military-approved, classic-style 3-layer GORE-TEX hooded shell, constructed to serve all-round hunting and outdoor pursuits for optimal protection and function. With a multi-pocket range for essential supplies, it is highly practical as well as durable."

Being a GORE-TEX garment, the Recon Jacket is of course totally windproof, waterproof and extremely breathable, making it a versatile jacket ideal for outdoor activities. While GORE-TEX is perfect for use in extreme outdoor conditions, it is not indestructible - care should always be taken around fires, thorns, brambles etc.

I was sceptical about choosing an outdoor jacket and the price of the Norrona Recon Jacket was perhaps more than I was expecting to pay. But having recently purchased one last winter I can honestly say it’s a superb versatile jacket and one that I would strongly recommend purchasing. It’s all round reliability is excellent, windproof, waterproof, loads of pockets and dare I say from a female point of view even stylish. Excellent quality that will last for many year to come!
