An absolute fantastic pack! I bought it along with the Predator PLCE pouches and they fit perfectly. The finishing of the pack is premium, straps are well designed to adjust to my body, and despite the rated capacity, you can pack slightly more than you think. It's got handles on the waist strap to tug the back around while in camp. Honestly the only minor downside I could say is the load lifter straps aren't as smooth as I'd like but that's really minor.

9/10, excellent pack for camping, bushcrafting and hiking. Absolutely love it!

A truly excellent rucksack, very comfortable to carry (especially for my back when the removable internal F-Format frame is stiffened by adding a lightweight rigid insert). Plenty of room to carry everything needed yet surprisingly small external dimensions for the capacity. Easy to pack as well quick access to kit, very hard wearing and rain resistant, with well designed side pocket attachment points. The side pockets themselves are the best designed pockets I've ever come across. Having used this rucksack repeatedly, it's very easy to see why it attracts so many positive reviews and why Woodlore stock it. Also, Woodlore's service is typically excellent. So what's not to like?

Excellent size and can be easily increased with additional side pockets etc. very comfortable and robustly made bag.

A really well built rucksack that's going to outlast me! It blends in well to surroundings when I'm out in local woods with hammock/bivvi. I like the fact that it's so customisable - zip up the sides and I have a spacious day pack, unzip them and I have adequate space for an overnighter. Although I haven't bought side pouches, I'm sure that with them it can be used for multi day trips too. My new favourite piece of kit.

Bought this for a few different purposes but it's first outing was a 3 day hike in the Alps and it was fantastic. My only reservation when ordering was that I couldn't see any reference to a pouch inside it for a hydration bladder and holes to feed the hose. To my delight this did indeed exist and so that made it even better than I had hoped. Comfortable, rugged and a great size with the ease of expansion due to the straps and clips that work with side pouches or other systems (like the tactical hydration system) I can't fault this pack in anyway! Looking forward to using it more and hopefully on a bushcraft course next year!

Regarded as the ideal bushcraft bag. I concur. It's features are well thought out and to the untrained eye, unnoticed. Exactly as it should be.

Fantastic bag, durable and practical. Good capacity although could do with compartments or some extra pockets. Overall great bag.

Great piece of kit at a great price, very quickly delivered and well packed.

Strong daypack. I have bigger, lighter packs but this is robust. Takes a water bladder nicely. Not the thickest padding on shoulder straps but perfectly comfortable on first use and sits well. I'm 6'2" and 13.5st, no issues with sizing. Only one use so far but this will be good for a long time.

Awesome, just awesome. Made so well. Fits so much. I highly recommend getting a waterproof Karrimor SF 90l dry bag for it.

I purchased this pack 4 years ago and it is as strong today as when I first got it. I believe a review should be done after an extensive period of use, so here's my thoughts. If you are looking for a backpack for long hiking trips then this is not the pack to choose, that's not to say it couldn't be used for those type of trips but there are designs that offer more pro's for backpacking, thru hikes etc. Look for something with an adjustable back system which are also light for those type of excursions. The Karrimor Sabre 45 is designed to be loaded up with gear and tools, perfect for trekking through environments where you could get snagged on branches and thorns. It's an ideal pack to throw over your shoulders from car to camp, that's not to say that your car needs to be close to the camp as I have had this pack on my back for several hours at a time. I have used this pack on canoe trips and has great lashing points to secure it to the canoe incase of a capsize. I have put this pack through its paces and have loaded it with a fare amount of weight, there are no signs of wear and tears as of yet. I love the versatility of this pack as I have used it without the side pouches for an overnight camp in the woods and with the pouches for more extensive stays. You cannot go wrong with this rucksack as it is built to last. It is made from quality materials, I highly recommend it as it serving me very well.

The Sabre 45 has a long established reputation for quality and refinement in features. I can confirm that this is indeed the case. The build quality is of a very high standard and of robust design as you would expect a military specification pack to be. The down side of that is that it is not the lightest option.

I was looking for a one for all pack, light enough to carry rain gear etc. for my family and myself on day hikes but which could expand to carry enough gear for an overnight camp trip.

Having used it a number of times now I would feel that this pack is a little large for a day hike where a 30 o 35litre or possible less may be better suited. But, as a compromise it meets both requirements well.

I made my decision to buy the Sabre 45 over the Predator 45 due to absence of well padded waist belt on the Predator which is I feel is very important to support larger pack weigh off the hips and not the back.

As I had quite a few Molle pouches the lack of Molle webbing was a disadvantage for me. This I solved by purchasing the Predator PLCE Molle side panels.

One further tip I can offer is that I have used a PLCE day pack yoke and PLCE side pockets for years. This is a very good addition and ideal for light day hikes. It greatly increases the versatility of the Sabre system when used in combination. I was surprised to find however that the male part of the quick release clips on my ex military day sack yoke were not compatible with the female part of the karrimor SF quick release clips. The problem is that the original military specification male clip length is 0.8mm shorter that the newer Karrimor SF version.

I was able to solve this problem by sanding 0.8mm off the length of the Karrimor SF female part of the clip which allowed both versions to connect properly. The same problem is not evident in the reverse combination as the longer karrimor SF male clip will fit the older military female clip. If you were using the Karrimor day yoke harness I doubt the problem would arise.

I'm very happy that following the above combinations and modifications I have a system perfectly suited to my needs. I think the pack is extremely well built, versatile and can be easily customised to the needs of the individual and application.

To the Woodlore team thank you once again for a perfect shopping experience and fast delivery as always.

As expected, another fabulous piece of kit from Karrimor SF. It is a very well made and robust pack that needs little introduction. Its unfussy design works well, with a main compartment inside, a couple of good sized pockets in the lid and a hydration pouch. The back system is very comfortable, I'm 5'10" and it fits very well.
Overall, I would recommend this to anyone with the need for a larger pack for extended day trips or 2 to 3 days out and about.

Wanted to upgrade from my British Army bergan, this is was a great choice, with an item like this my expectations were high, suffice to say this has exceeded them all. The build quality is exceptional, dare I say better than my bergan, the design is also exceptional, huge outer and inner pockets on the lid, the strap ties are very well thought out. I am 6ft3, personally I'd say any taller than that and the pack could be uncomfortable because of the physical dimensions of the pack. At that height the waist belt starts to loose it's ability to hold the weight on the hips without putting all of the weight on the shoulder straps. Luckily the sternum straps are adjustable in terms of placement and height. They're a huge help for tall people and on their lowest setting will stop the straps from digging in. Ultimately very pleased and would buy again without a shadow of doubt.

Honestly, I think this is the best rucksack I have ever purchased. As a 45L backpack, this is a perfect bag - well made, comfortable and easy to access, it makes for a reliable pack for going hiking or even just for day trips. I arguably own too many rucksacks however this instantly became my favorite and I would highly recommend to anyone.
If you're at all concerned about 45L not being enough, it's also worth mentioning that you can pair this with the Karrimor SF Sabre Side Pockets - Olive Green on offer which are very easy to attach/remove and allow for you owning just 1 bag for both your long and short treks. A must buy as far as I'm concerned.

Good quality. Arrived the day after ordering. The daysack is a quality product. Zips down the side allow the bag to reduce in size when not full. A large bag when zips open. Would recommend.

Top quality item. With me standing at 6 foot 5 inches the rucksack tends to sit relatively high on my back even with shoulder straps fully extended. Im guessing due to the rucksacks military background it is designed this way presumably to accommodate belt kit but is nonetheless very comfortable in use. I'm looking forward to many years of reliable service from this extremely adaptable rucksack.
Woodlore service first class as usual. Many thanks.

Great bit of kit. As described.

Bought for my fifteen year old son who wil use it for Ten Tors and CCF training.

Extremely well designed, great attention to detail and with flexibilty of storage especially when combined with side pouches. I can see why this bag is a forces favourite. Just wish it had been available in my day instead of 59 pattern webbing!

Painless ordering procedure with extra fast delivery. Highly recommended.

Excellent robust bit of kit, bought mainly for the versatility the ability to add side pockets gives for load capacity which has worked a treat.
lost a star due to lack of tube routing for water bladder, shoulder straps could be longer and better padded.

Just taken my new Karrimor sabre 45 with side pockets and the dry liner set on an 8 day trip in the Cumbrian mountains, the pack is very well designed and constructed, rugged and built to last. Also very happy with the fast prompt service from the people at Woodlore. Many Thanks.

(I would have bought a leaf cutter rucksack, but the reason for the Karrimor over the leaf cutter was the lack of external attachment points).
