The Fjallraven Nordic Heater Hat is an excellent warm hat. I used this in the Arctic when the temperature got really low - and when getting up in the morning following sleeping out. It paired really well with the Fjallraven Singi Down Jacket and certainly kept the cold at bay. The chin strap enables you to cinch the hat down around your chin and the faux fur takes the edge off the wind and cold. I found that this enabled the whole hat to fit with the Singi Down Jacket hood and made a decent warm seal whilst the hood was up. It's very comfortable and was absolutely ideal even when the temperature dropped to almost -40. A very worthy addition to anyone's cold weather kit. An absolute must for the Arctic.

Super warm hat for these freezing winter days, the long fur tickles at times but not really a problem, everyone in the house has been wearing it.

I was a bit dubious about this hat at first because of the price. But I can assure you that this hat is worth every penny. You can feel the heat instantly when you put it on and you can feel the quality. No loose threads, no bad stitching and not real fur.
I'd recommend this hat to anyone, yes you can find similar for less but you'll end up spending more when you eventually realise this is the one you should've bought first time around.

Warm as toast. The fit is great and, although we're barely Arctic here in the UK, on the occasion that it has dropped below zero this hat has been excellent. It's flexible enough to scrunch up and put in a rucksack or bellows pocket. Great value and a superb service from RM.

This is one seriously warm hat! Fjallraven quality, and when the temperature is low enough to wear it you will have a warm head.

In December 2012 I bought one of these hats for my wife. She was initially a
little skeptical, but it has become a firm favourite in her winter walking
gear, and yet it shows no sign of wear a little over six years later.
Although quite bulky when worn, it packs into a small space. The large size
version that I recently ordered for myself occupies about half the volume of
one of the side pockets of my 32l rucksack and weighs just 175gm. In practice
it is remarkably warm. This may be because the artificial fur spreads out and
catches air. I have used it on walks in December and January in England and
Wales, and it has been too hot to wear whilst on the move around midday.
However when resting it provides a great deal of comfort, allowing me to rest
longer than I would ordinarily choose to do. Also I wore it whilst making a
Christmas wreath in our garden, and it kept me comfortable so that I could
complete the job without having to retreat to the house. I suspect that it
would be too warm for cross country skiing, but probably very good for camping
in winter.

Superb hat, keeps you nice and warm as well as dry. One thing I notice is you don't overheat either. It is truly a great bit of kit. The only down side in any way is the fur on the front. It does get in the way of vision a bit, but it can be pushed away from your face. It does catch snow/rain though and keep it away from your face so swings and roundabouts. This is the hat I've been looking for for a long time. Love it. It's lighter and easier to stow or carry than you think too. Best trapper hat I've had. Better than the north face one I have had a while by far. So impressed by the service from Ray Mears store too. I must admit it's making me really think about one of Fjallraven's coats too. Impressed with the materials and quality.

Great for really cold weather. Wouldn't recommend for warmer than 5 degrees. Well-made as you would expect from Fjallraven.

Item was great, my daughter took advice from her little brother as she'd set fire to her old one, and wanted a replacement. I had a text from her today to say that, on the farm where she is, the temperature is -3C but the new hat is keeping her alive. I'd go for this if you want warmth and protection from all the elements can throw at you.

This is the cheapest place I could find this hat and it is now my favourite. Everyone else really likes it too. It is warm, comfortable and very furry.

As expected of anything Ray Mears endorses, this is a top quality product. Fjallraven rightly have a reputation for producing high quality, well-designed outdoor gear that also looks great. This hat is very warm and cosy. So far it has been water- and windproof for me, and the fur is great for keeping the weather out of your face too. A lot of hats tend to give me an itchy head when I warm up too much (e.g. going uphill), but this does not despite being very warm. Worth every penny; I would recommend this hat for use in the great British outdoors or even about town on a cold day, and I would be confident relying on this in more extreme climates also.

Can't say enough. I can't wait for winter. Primary use will be around winter camp (low activity/ice fishing).

Delivered next day in the normal helpful efficient way from Woodlore. The sizing is just right, I measured my head circumference at 57cm, ordered the 58 and its a perfect fit. Great quality with attention to detail as you would expect from Fjallraven. Very comfortable and luxurious and unbelievably warm.
I spend a lot of time standing about in cold conditions with camera gear waiting for the shot to be right. This is the perfect hat. If you are walking around a lot it's almost too hot even in the depths of an English winter but it breathes well so your head doesn't get sweaty.

Overall a great product, highly recommended.

After hearing stories that UK will be having another cold winter, I was happy to see this hat for sale at a place I can trust - Ray Mears.
Having had the possum/merino hat (that was stolen) I thought this would make a good replacement. It's not just warm, it is seriously warm! I have only been able to test it on the building sites and tips that I visit for work rather than in the field, but I have no doubt this is a seriously decent piece of kit. If you wear it just be aware people will want to try it on or do Deputy Dawg impressions.
Sizing is very accurate (don't guess your size - measure your head) and ensures close contact to your head to maximise warmth. Full marks!
